Apple’s list of ongoing vintage and obsolete products recently received updates, and the latest updates include some unique Apple products, including the notorious “Trash Can” 2013 Mac Pro, which is considered a retro 12 years after introduction.
In general, the products added to the list are actually more recent desktops than waste, but Apple sold that version of Mac Pro for years. To be added to the vintage list is produced by five years and distributed for sale.
Apple sold the garbage to Can Pro by December 2019, when it was equally replaced with the unique “cheese” Mac Pro, a design that has been largely stuck to a large extent.
At that time, the cylindrical design of Mac Pro was smaller than the previous tower Mac Pro. However, the design was flawed with a lack of space to upgrade components such as GPU and RAM.
As Macrums told in 2017Even Apple had to accept that when it came to update the system, the design was still a failure, even for Apple Engineers.
“I think we designed ourselves in a thermal corner, if you would,” Craig Federighi said, who was then software engineering chief.
Beyond the Turbine looking Mac Pro, some other apple devices are now vintage:
- 2019 13 inch MacBook Air
- 2019 iMac
- 2018 11-inch iPad Pro
- 2018 third generation 12.9-inch Edipad Pro
- iPhone 8 128GB
Additionally, many devices are now considered obsolete. The infection occurs when a product is considered a vintage for two years. More accurately, the devices are obsolete after seven years when Apple closed them.
Most of this list include Apple’s long -standing dead airport routers.
- Airport Express Second Generation, 2TB and 3TB
- Airport Time Capsule 2TB
- Airport Time Capsule 3TB
- 802.11ac Airport Extreme
If the parts are available, apple will support vintage products with repair. However, once the parts are supplied, the repair will not be offered. Observing devices will not be repaired by Apple Store or Apple authorized service providers.
