Earlier this week, the company unveiled Visa Intelligent Commerce in Visa Global Product Drop. According to the release, this initiative opens visa payment network for developers and engineers that are creating agents AI shopping experiences that find and buy products for users.

In addition, Visa Intelligent Commerce is a commercial partner program for AI platforms that includes a suit of integrated API developers, which can use to deploy the AI commercials of the visa.
According to the visa, the program offers A-Taiyar Credit Card that replaces the card details with tokens digital credentials; AI-managed personalization, which shares basic visa expenses (with user consent) and buys insight to improve agent performance; And AI payments, which allow AI agents to transact with the clear guidelines prescribed by the user.
The Visa’s main product and strategy officer, Jack Foreel, compared this wave of online changes from physical purchases, and then for online mobile, set a new standard for AI.
“Soon people will have AI agents browse, selection, purchase and management on their behalf,” said Forel. “These agents will need to rely with payment not only by users, but also by banks and vendors.”
To bring this initiative into life, the visa will cooperate with many AI industry leaders, including anthropic, IBM, Microsoft, Mistral AI, Openi, Perplexity, Samsung, Stripe, and more.

Recently, MasterCard announced its agent-based AI payment program, on MasterCard agent. The program is also to provide a more secure and personal payment experience at AI age. According to the company, the program introduces a partnership with MasterCard agentic tokens and Microsoft to develop new use cases and “Scale Agentic Commerce”.
