The MK Ride is essentially a mild-closer game with a heavy enhanced reality element that forces you to wear ‘goggles’, which is difficult to appreciate the physical environment you are riding. You can take off ‘goggles’, but you lose the entire point of riding in doing so, and the pieces of the animatronic set and the environmental elements are not exciting in itself. The game can be confused at the first time and, to be a riding around a video game that traditionally encourages you to run fast, it is quite slow.
However, almost no one can be said about the ride of the new donkey Kong country. I am a much larger DK fan than Mario, and even though the ride of this new mine cart has been picked as a more traditional roller coaster, which sometimes claims to go out of the rail, my curiosity and love for the series told me to see what he had to offer. I am thrilled to say that it did not disappoint, even though it proved to be a very bumpy ride at times.
The queue for mine cart insanity takes you through a temple that reminded me of the Milstone Mehm from the original Super Nintendo game and most of the temple template. Most of the lines are covered indoors or at least and were kept quite calm for air conditioning, if you need a drink, some theme water fountains are also included. Here you will also get some touchpoints for the power band which you are using the Universal Mobile App.
The line is quite simple, not much to see, on one side is different from a stunning appearance from Cranky Kong and squacks the parrot. Both are fully animatronic and are fully voiced and are ahead of each other. Not only do they help pass time in line, they help laying the story and you can expect to look at the ride. Even though no one was waiting in front of me, I was standing here for a long time and just listened to them chatting, such as after catching a couple of good pulse after a long time.
Once it was time for me to sit in my mine’s car, I could feel drowning in my heart because I remember that seeing the ride from the ground floor of the park and it is very fast, compared to other nintendo-theme rides to this point. I was very scared honestly, but my love for Kongs clearly knows no limit, and this helped me some pulse (thanks, thank you, Igna to Bryan And Marcus from game informer To keep me calm!).
The ride lasts for only a few minutes, so I will avoid getting very bad because I really think that if you are going to do this, then you should go to know as much as possible. Things actually move away from rail in some amazing and shocking methods, though. So much so that at a specific point on the ride, I thought it was really the end for us.
If you have watched the blueprint or caught a video of Miamoto while visiting the park in Japan, you may have heard about the big hook of the ride. If you have played a mine cart level in DKC, you will know that platforming is also very high in minor carts, and it is repeated here. Mine Cart madness, never reversed (thankfully), but it moves you some steep slopes and twists up and down and turns every time and again, mimics the feeling of flying by rail and securely descends on them. The jumping did not make itself as clear as I was expecting, as it works more as a trick of the eye than throwing into the air. Honestly, this is probably a good thing. Also, if you want more authentic and courageous experience, then sit in one of the next seats if you can.

You will find anything from your favorite DKC friends, and it is coming back to my car madness for many rides alone. These pieces of animatronic set make this ride much more fun than the ride of Mario Cart, as it is very exciting to see these chimpanzies in action. However, there are more than just chimps to see, therefore, if you are only familiar with recent country games, the store would be more surprising.
For me, the ride was made even better at night because yellow and blue neon lights add a comfortable glow to the experience. You will run through some indoor classes that make it feel like a dark ride many times. There is a lot to see that once I didn’t feel as if I saw everything; If you rotate your head at different points, you can catch a good glimpse of the park, a crowd of waterfall, or even some courageous pickmins that break away from the pack.
This can just be a kink to work, but every now and then I felt that the ride could be quite bumpy. After getting out of my mine’s car, I heard other riders talking about that it was unpredictually bumpy for them. I can’t imagine dropping a mine shaft in a rusty rock wagon, the most comfortable thing in real life, so perhaps it is just a part of the experience. Some are worth noting, however, there is no doubt.
A negative side for some is the fact that there is no sports element for this ride. However, it was a very big win for me. Seeing the expansion and quality of these animatronics, even for a few moments, something that I will remember for a long, longer time.
It seems foolish, but it felt me closer to the world of the country more than ever before – Mario Cart ride did not leave this big impression. This is a very big step in overall production and an experience I hope that every DKC fan can be in his life. As a member of the press, I was very bound to try it, but I think I understand finally Voluntarily Choose to ride a roller coaster. If Nintendo and Universal decide to make their next ride even more intense, I hope I will be ready for it. Even if it has a name like ‘funky crash course’.
The cost of the journey for this visit and the initial access to the park was provided by Universal.
