Avast Premium is a powerful antivirus program loaded with additional features. Compared to some of the best antivirus programs, it does not throw a low -cost package in the blotware so that it appears that the membership fee is worth it. Instead, you can make backup of your sensitive files to protect from ransomware, search for sensitive files and protect them from pricking the eyes, and even block your webcam.

The biggest surprise with AVAST premium is that the list of security features does not stop there – much to find out in the app that it may look heavy before. Antivirus software does not mess around, it also offers your email a highly capable security tool for the protection of your email called email guardian. The app DNS protects from kidnapping and remote desktop adventures, both dangerous and all-of-a-manner attacks.

Nevertheless, it comes with a negative side with all power: Avast Premium does not include a VPN or a password manager, features that are often involved in competitive products. You can still rely on comprehensive security security, but add a VPN and password manager if you need features.

      Avast Premium Safety Membership Options:

    • Evast Premium Security for $ 59.99 per year

This means that Avast Premium Bitdefender can not best our top pick for total protection, antivirus software. It is also not capable of Mcafee+ Premium or Norton 360 deluxe. All three top pics consist of a VPN and a password manager for a membership fee. (Thought Bitdener Total Security has a 200 MB limit on VPN and includes a trial version of the password manager.)

Avast also incorporates several “reminders” to upgrade its VPN app, AVAST Secureline VPN, and adds its performance tools, Avast Cleanup. That said, if you are mainly looking for extensive security security, the avast premium is an intelligent option.

Avast Premium: Cost and what is covered

Even with this safety capacity, the Avast Premium is actually one of the lowest cost options, which is cheaper than most safety packages for consumer use. For the safety of a device, the membership fee is only $ 79.99, which is a good $ 30 lower than most antivirus programs such as bitDender. To protect 10 devices, the annual cost is only $ 99.99, which is approximately $ 10- $ 20 lower compared to antivirus products from Norton, BitDefender and McAfi, which is with a similar feature set.

Here is an extraordinary value if you can separate the fact that the premium version does not include VPN or Password Manager – which includes Norton 360 deluxe and McAfee+ Premium. In fact, McAfee+ Premium does not determine a limit on how many devices you can protect. With avast, you can choose a device or 10 package for 10. The app works with Apple Mac, Windows, Tablets or your smartphone (iOS or Android).

AVAST includes limited privacy security features, such as data shield for your sensitive documents and a data credit. For the performance tool, the app only includes a tool to see if your installed software requires updates and is a way to disable information when you work. This final feature is a bit unusual and mostly seems to be not interrupted.

    Avast Premium: Protection

As mentioned, security features are quite comprehensive and include some options that go beyond our top pics in the category, such as Bitdefnder and Norton 360. For scanning virus, you can do a quick scan or target (which allows you to choose specific folders). Like Norton 360, you can also scan a boot detector that runs before loading Windows.

The app has a new feature to find out at every turn, digging. You can scan your computer for sensitive information – such as social security number or login information in a PDF – and then add additional security to the documents that block access to them.

The email Guardian feature worked perfectly by scanning the upcoming messages, then by adding a “safe” label to the email that did not pose a threat. In a protected environment there is a sandbox mode to run any app, and a banking mode allows you to make financial transactions in a browser that moves to the top of Windows. (You cannot even take a screenshot in that mode.)

Avast does not stop there. You can run a dedicated browser beyond the bank mode, although it should be noted that it is available for free browser for free. The browser moves into a safe mode that does not allow you to track by advertisers and blocks harmful sites.

    Avast Premium: Performance

The Avast Premium is a quick and competent app, while the Norton 360 deluxe is lacking some polish (although both apps are created by the same company). This direct design is an advantage for those who want to run just antivirus scans. In our tests, a sharp scan took only three minutes; Betadefnder, McAfee and Norton Antivirus Prasad faster. The full boot sector scan took 12 minutes, which is about 15–20 minutes faster than the competitive apps. However, the avast premium found only 900,000 files on the same PC that is used to test the contestants, which found about 1.5 meters files.

Since the avast premium does not include VPN, we were not able to test the download using that encrypted connection. However, the avast premium usually moved faster than the glossier competitive apps, and we saw that both iOS and Android apps are operated in a well -organized manner.

When to measure how an antivirus program protects from real threats, we compare the results produced by independent laboratories: AV tests, AV comparative and SE labs. In Public of AV Test/February 2025 Product Review and Certification ReportAvast scored 6 out of 6 in conservation scoring, where it was able to scan through more than 16,000 samples in four weeks to search for malware samples. It produced only three false positivity in over 850,000 samples.

In AV comparative March 2025 malware protection test AVAST created 99.96% protection rate and scanned over 10,026 files, correctly compromised 4 compromises. However, it produced ten false positives during this test, which is similar to Norton. In SE Labs’ 2023 andPoint Security Testing, Avust produced 100% accuracy against both targeted and general attacks with zero false positivity.

    Avast Premium: Features

While the AVAST premium is loaded with the safety features described above, the package is slightly thin on additional protection for privacy and when it comes to disc cleanup tools and other features, to make your PC or Mac faster and lean.

It is clear that the avast premium is mainly focused on antivirus protection, and if you really need it, it can be a top option. Some of the competitive apps in the space combine both privacy and performance -enhancing features that are designed to make your PC safe and faster, but Avast mostly indicates you to add programs with a separate membership fee.

For example, you can scan for privacy problems and see the results, but to really fix any of those issues, Avast only offers an option to buy the avast safe identity, which costs $ 99.99 per year. This app provides access to experts to help solve the problems of identity theft, so it can be worth it depending on the issues you are facing. For performance-related tasks such as disc cleanup, you will need to buy the Avast Cleanup Premium, which is priced at $ 41.88 per year. That app can remove hidden files, clean a broken registry, and even fix the fragmented disc problems. This is similar to the Norton disc cleanup app.

    Product Name: Interface

Avast Premium is a thin and functional app. It lacks a clean white and yellow form of polish of a sleaker and more polished apps such as Norton 360 deluxe. The avast interface looks more dated, although finding a feature or running a utility was never difficult.

The interface has a black and green interface, with anything important with a red label or needs to be addressed. For example, you can find issues and solutions for them quickly.

A screenshot of AVAST premium network scan scans in action.

There are clear buttons for safety, privacy and performance to the left – although as stated above, privacy and performance work are limited. This means that you can spend most of your time in running antivirus tools. However, this may be what you need and the one that focuses on the avast premium.

    Avast Premium: Support

Avast comes with 24×7 tech support by premium chat, and during our tests, technicians helped solve a question about cloud storage easily (app does not offer cloud storage). The phone’s support for billing questions is high, but you can also send it to a support ticket by email.

    Avast Premium: Decision

Avast Premium is a highly capable antivirus package that focuses on the most severe safety threats – protects you from ransomware scams, protects sensitive documents, and even offers a safe browser for banking and other online activity. It is also a proper value, protecting the cost of a device compared to Norton, McAfee and Bitdefrender. Finally, the Avast Premium is a good option for antivirus protection at a reasonable price, but the lack of any privacy security, a VPN or a password manager makes it less compelling.
