The market is becoming increasingly competitive for mobile game controllers. Not only because Apple opened the option to use the controller with its equipment, but also because both Playstation and Xbox now allow players to stream the console game on their phone. This makes a good compatible mobile device controller very useful. It is also easy for solid mobile port of console game Dead cells (Which I tested a supporter) or resident Evil village (among many others,

I spent a lot of time with mobile game controllers during my stint in the gamespot as my mobile game editor, and although there are many solid options, the backbone controller was always and was my favorite. It seems solid without being heavy, it is easily connected to your device, which has no disturbance, and it is compact without feeling too small. Perhaps most importantly, once it is plugged into your phone, it looks like a proper controller with good control stick and clicky face button.
All this says, it notices me when the backbone reached about a new supporting version of its controller. It will be particularly the best buy and will be available at backbone.com For $ 169.99. I like the idea of the pro version of my favorite mobile controller, but looking at my praise for amateur version, I was curious as to what the upgrade would feel necessary.

The brief answer is that the Pro version does not feel like an essential upgrade. I am not a better or necessarily more comfortable gamer using a backbone Pro, but I like it. I currently use the PlayStation version of the backbone controller, which is functionally similar to the standard backbone, but with the playstation color scheme. It was also bought for me as a gift by my amazing and thoughtful wife. I think for that reason your backbone one – playstation version will not share the same emotional attachment for the mobile gaming controller, so feel free to ignore that element of my impression in your purchase decision.

Backbone Pro
Large, immediately noticeable difference between standard and Pro is that the latter is large. The grips are thick, possibly to make space for additional electronics, but it still looks comfortable. The way the controller’s shells hold the edges of the phone, they still feel strong.
There are also two additional programmable buttons in the back of the controller. The back controller button is an element of modern controller design that I like, but if I am honest with myself, I never benefit. I eagerly intended to use an Xbox Pro Controller to use the back paddle, but to date, I have used them, to click a little satisfactory during the loading screen. I am doing myself here. So, if you like buttons on the back – they are here! But if you are more like me and do not really use them, then it is okay, do you think? You have a nice fidgate toy to poke you while loading your game. I am glad that they are there, even if I don’t use them.
Pro control rods are a different design. They are concave opposite the convex and also have a thick texture around the edges. This is one of the small differences that eventually a case of personal preference, but I think I have a little more control with Pro.

D-pads on two controllers feel the same for my touch, but the facial buttons are undisputedly different. Standard backbone facial buttons click in a satisfactory way. Pro buttons are soft and feel more suited to an Xbox or PlayStation Controller. I have some affection for the click-east button of the original controller, but I like the more familiar-feeling buttons of the Pro.
Other large upgrade for the Pro Controller that cannot claim the standard can be used directly without connecting to your phone. And since it is Bluetooth, it can also be used with many compatible devices. This is a good option (and possibly Pro Grips is a bit bigger), but for all positive things I have said about the backbone, my statements include asterisk, “to a controller associated with your phone”. The backbone is an excellent, convenient controller to use with your phone, but it will not personally use Xbox or PlayStation controllers with your PC or steam deck.
Like the back on the back, however, I think this is a good option and I can imagine situations where I want to catch a separate controller from my phone and continue to play.

Decision
I like the standard backbone controller. I think it is still the best mobile controller available. I also like backbone Pro. It is a great mobile controller with a whistle beyond some additional bells and whistles that I appreciate. Facted with both, however, I do not think there is anything about the Pro Controller that makes it fundamentally better than the standard backbone controller. Just a little better.
