For many good reasons, Baltro PC Gamer had 2024 Game of the Year, but one of them was that no one in the team could stop playing this thing. We were not either alone: Developers Poker went to Gaga for Rojuelik. And now it is discovered that even Balatro manufacturer Localtunk can not stop beating his head against the wall he created only.
Localthkhana is very good in his game: Last year he talked about defeating Baltroes with every deck on every difficulty. To achieve perfectionist ++ achievement, you have to “earn a gold sticker on every clown.” To get a gold sticker, a clown has to be in your team after defeating 8 bosses on the gold stake run (the most difficult difficulty of the game). The problem is that not all 150 clowns of the game are great, while some are lowless, and the rules of gold bets are cruel: small blinds do not pay any reward money, the required score is more rapid, less desiids, and the clowns that may live forever, or be low, or you have to pay.

Localthunk has managed perfectist+ achievement, which is hard enough (defeated the gold bets with every deck). But I am happy for one that a game that has kicked my ass several times is also doing for his own creator.
Balatro will receive a 1.1 update at some point that will add some new clowns to the game among other things, but even the publisher does not know when this is happening: “He is just one day showing and says, ‘There are 100 clowns here.”
