    Benq GP520: One minute review

Benq GP520 is a promising projector for those on a tight budget. At $ 1,499, it offers a very cheap option for Hisense C2 Ultra and JGMO N1s Pro 4K. While there are many other examples of the best projector that can compete near its price, Benq GP520 has a solid edge where the brightness is concerned. An LED light source lets it make a high hit of 2,600 ANSI lumen, and it is too much to provide a pleasant image, even if you do not completely black the place of view.

GP520 beams a sharp and slight colored 4K image and supports HDR10+ high dynamic range. In the event of the right view, it may look fabulous for a projector at this price, and even solid speed handling.

Benq rounded out GP520 with a powerful pair, which will work when you do not have time to sort a better sound system, and it has integrated Google TV for streaming. The projector is small and easy, which moves forward about it, making it viable as an all-in-one theater system anywhere. While many methods of GP520 can be better, it is a great option for those on a budget.

    • Release date: October 2024
    • Price: $ 1,499 / £ 1299 / AU $ 2,199

Benq GP520 recently entered the market and comes at a minor price. At $ 1,499, it is a small deal next to Benq W2720i, and is cheaper than the BenQ X300G and Benq X3100i in the company’s gaming projector lineup. It does not have gaming chops of the subsequent projector, but it gives a big, bright 4K picture for money.

Benq GP520 Review: Design and Features

    • Compact, all-in-one design
    • Many tripod holes for growing
    • Google tv

Like many recent mainstream home projector, Benq GP520 has a simple, boxy design. With a compact, gray case and a blue pronunciation around the lens, it looks much less like office equipment compared to other Benq projector. Inside, it packs an LED DLP launch system, dual 12-watt speaker and Google TV streaming platform. It is a compact projector that is easy to transfer and set to new positions.

While some contestants have started their projector with a gimbal stand, GP520 has simple rubber legs that may be extended to improve small angles and tilt. He said, GP520 is equipped with a tripod hole on top, bottom and back for adaptable setup. You want a strong tripod to secure this projector, though.

The GP520 will automatically configure your photo for the new setup, including the adjustment of neston and autofocus, and even framing and obstruction. In addition to the focus, all these are digital adjustments that reduce the resolution of 4K images.

Benq GP520 Google TV runs the smart TV system, and while it provides a lot of functionality to find and streaming the material, the hardware running it is not so capable. After the selection or trying to reach the menu, the OS will hang for one or several seconds. For example, the main menu was trying to reach the picture settings menu, the delay for me was enough that the system was assured that the system was messed up (it was not).

Around the rear, the GP520 HDMI 2.1 ports (one with EARC), a 3.5 mm audio output, two USB-A ports (a only for service), and a pair of a USB-C port offer. This is the last one special, as it not only supports 20 watt charging power for a connected device, but also acts as a displayport input.

The process also includes a small vent for tiredness to the heat behind the projector, and while a lot of heat comes out of the back, the fans are not very loud. At the top, it has volume, Bluetooth pairing and buttons for power. The edges of the projector are covered in large grills that allow the air to flow and come out of the speakers. While the GP520 compact is compact, Benq uses a large and heavy external electrical brick that can be found in the way of a convenient and well -organized setup.

The remote involved with the GP520 is basic and looks a bit cheaper, but it works. It has a specific Google TV layout with a spherical navigation dial, a microphone button for voice control and quick buttons for the house and back. Interestingly, it involves a zoom control to quickly shrink the image and blow it back, and also has a dedicated button to adjust the caston and focus automatically. Thankfully, the remote has a shortcut button to replace the input, which makes the jumping from the Google TV operating system very fast, which is without getting caught in any other input without getting caught in an irresponsible menu without any other input.

    • Design and features score: 3.5/5

Benq GP520 Review: Picture and Sound Quality

Black levels can look elevated on GP520, but it manages to easily get out of the dark shadow in films like Dune (Image Credit: Future)
    • Crunchy, bright 4K pictures
    • There is a lack of color
    • No gaming facilities

Benq GP520 puts in a good show, with a picture of 2,600 lumen’s glow. In a well -light room, you want to live with materials like cartoons and TV, but if you can draw curtains and slow down your location, GP520 is good for films. enemy of the State My 100 -inch screen had great views and solid contrast, even with the light slipping through my blind during the day. Black levels were not incredibly deep, but it still looked good.

In these similar situations, a 4K blue-ray Dune The GP520’s HDR10s looked excellent in picture mode. The picture had a sharp expansion, and also expanded in dark shadows, such as clothes and Harkonon armor. Sometimes, the projector performed Juder during paning and tilting shots, but it was very subtle. There is also an auto HDR picture mode, but it turns into a cooler color temperature and introduces soap opera effects with other odd motion artifacts.

The elevated black level seen on the GP520 may be slightly distracted when this letterbox displays films of films or black colored, but on the contrary is still quite good. GP520 performed well with Jamis in Paul’s duality DuneI have seen other projector struggling a lot with this quite dark view, but GP520 clearly presented it and brought out a lot of expansion including Jamis’ face.

The GP520 is slightly lower on the color, however, with its LED light source only cover 81% of the DCI-P3 color space. This leaves a lot of space for improvement, but such improvements will generally come from more expensive triple laser projector, such as JMGO N1S Pro or Hisense C2 Ultra. It will not return GP520 with some films, such as above enemy of the StateBut it loses a little punch with the material which is especially benefited by the vibrant color, such as Cyberpank adagarors,

Speakers on GP520 pack a punch for a system of this size. The balance is slightly crisp, putting a lot in the mids and rolling the bass. The sub-bass is absent, so you will miss some meat from films, TV and games.

While the projector can run the game with a reasonable low delay, it cannot switch to the 1080p display and compete with the frame rate like some of his competitors. Despite the resolution, the fresh rate is dominated at 60Hz.

    • Picture and sound quality score: 3.5/5

    • Bright
    • Cheap price for 4K projector
    • All-in-one design increases the design price

Benq may not be the best projector around the GP520, but it is offering an excellent value. For one thing, it is a complete package with integrated speakers and a streaming software that lets you start to give it electricity and see it without any extra gear. It is also giving concrete performance for money, with a picture which is very bright, crisp, and HDR10+ support. It can use a slightly more color prosperity, a deep black floor, and the option to increase the fresh rate on low resolutions, but to watch film and TV directly, it is quite good.

At $ 1,499, Benq GP520 sits in a proper place, clearly steering about its more colorful triple-liger competition, but offers a better glow than a similar price projector.

    How I tested Benq GP520

Benq is showing scene from GP520 Dune

    • Many, real world viewing conditions at home
    • Display with various types of media and formats
    • I have tested many projector and display in the last half decade

I tested the Benq GP520 at home, in real world situations. This faced it with many windows, ambient light coming from in-rroom lighting, as well as ambient light to remove both the ambient and speaker system. The projector was tested against both a bare, white wall and an Akia screen Cinevite screen. It was presented with stream-up material, HDR and non-HDR and PC gameplay.

My test evaluates the performance of the projector, with its price and competing from other models, I and the colleagues at Techradar have tested.

I have been testing the projector since 2021 and displayed for a long time.
