Ah, happiness A holiday. To relax a little time and keep your feet up. Or if you have children, a chance to mourn a new time area. My family closed our last holiday before exiting the airport and did not leave it.

“Dad, my internet is not working.” “Father, where can I charge it?” “Dad, what is Wi-Fi password?” “Dad, are we there yet?”

Fortunately, this year I plan forward, and you can also do a harmonious family holiday with our best travel technology guide. Disclaimer: I will show you how to charge everyone online and completely, but I cannot accept responsibility for non-technical-related family arguments.

    Internet

In theory, it would be great to leave your phone and tablet behind and sink yourself to “live, laugh, love” in your own way around the world. In fact, travel has dull moments and downtime, and teenagers cannot be separated from the Internet for a long time. You can save yourself from a lot of trouble by ensuring that everyone can get online.

    A trip router

My top tip is to install a trip router First Go. Plug it into your existing router and then connect all the devices you are taking on leave, but most importantly, you, your partner and your children’s phones. Now, when you reach your apartment or hotel, you can plug in, connect the travel router to public Wi-Fi, or even connect your phone to the router and use it as a hot spot, so everyone is safely connected without any login details. Here is one who suggests in my best Wi-Fi router guide.

    Connect smartphone

You should check your roaming options where you are leaving, but it is a safe condition that the allegations of roaming will be a heavy unwanted additional expense when you reach home, especially if you allow your children to join foreign networks. You have some options to avoid this issue.

    • Use your phone as a hot place: On my phone contract I have some roaming travel allowances that my wife and children do not have, so it was understood that when we use my phone as a warm place for them to get out and about it. Check your contract before doing this, but even if you do not have specific benefits, you will still find it cheaper to get data for a device. Here is how to use your phone as a hot spot. This will dry your battery faster, but I have a tip below in the charging section. Remember to shut off cell service or mobile data on the rest of your family’s phone.
    • Buy a trip sim or asim: When you land abroad, you can do an international SIM card to switch to your phone. This may be a cost -effective way to ensure that you have lots of data and can connect to foreign networks, although it means using a different number for your migration period. We have a guide about how to use ESIM for international travel.
    • Buy a hot space: Instead of using your phone as a hot spot, you can always be stopped with a purpose. These portable devices require a SIM or ESIM and enable you to connect many gadgets through Wi-Fi. Some portable hot spots also come with service. I recently tested excellent but expensive Netgier Nighthoc M6 Pro ($ 800) And cheap but inferior Acer Connect Enduro M3 5G ($ 356),

    Download premature time

For the preparation of the journey, you should download the map in advance and plot your routes. If you use Google Maps, you can tap your profile icon to the top right (if you use Apple Maps) and choose and choose and choose Offline map To start Downloading a map of the area you are going is a good way to save the data and when you come up when you have issues of connection, it acts as a backup.

If you are looking for directions in Google Maps, ask for public transport from the airport to the hotel, remember that you can tap Holiday drop down box (Now In Apple Maps) and select a day and time to get the right instructions for your arrival.

There is also a great idea to ensure that you and your children have some entertainment on your phone before leaving. Choose some movies or episodes of the favorite show and download them before night. How to download videos to watch offline. Some of the best mobile games can also be played offline (I recommend Mini Metro,

    Entertainment

Talking about entertainment, you should take something with you. At the end of traveling to sightseeing or roller coaster riding of a busy day, you may want to rest with an hour -long TV, and if you don’t speak the language then the novelty of Spanish soap opera or French debate shows will stop quickly. I always pack our Chromecast, but will pix any of our best streaming device guides. This Roku Stick is our favorite and plugs easily to any available HDMI port.

Just make sure that you are logged in all your streaming services and before leaving you connect them to your travel router. In this way, you have all your favorite shows and the next episode has been corrected. If you are blocked by those annoying login screen for hotel Wi-Fi, you can always connect and log to Wi-Fi on your phone, then use it as a hot spot for your streaming stick to connect it.

    Travel charging

It is important to pack charging gear when you travel. You want travel adapters, charging cable and power banks. Make sure you have the right adapters for the country you’re going, make sure you have a charging cable for every device you are taking, and test all those before leaving home. Don’t forget about your smartwatch, fitness tracker or smart ring. I also recommend taking at least one additional travel charger in the case only. I walk through various options in my best travel adapter guide, but the top pick is ideal for family trips.

    Constable

    GAN 70W Universal Travel Adapter

The top pick in our best USB-C cables will charge any device with USB-C port, but this is an easy option for people with nomadic cable Apple Watch.

Nomadic universal cable for apple watch

You can also find many options for various devices in our best portable charger’s guide, but it is what I suggest for travel.

    Security

One of our favorite password managers, 1password, allows travel mode, allowing you to remove any sensitive data from the devices before traveling and restore it with a click after crossing a limit. This prevents anyone from reaching your full password vault, including law enforcement on international borders. You are also interested in how to protect yourself from phone discoveries on the US border.

If you are living or rented in camps and worry about anyone through your belongings, or you feel that there is a risk of theft, it may be worth packing a portable security camera. For places with AirBNBS and Wi-Fi, try a camera from our best indoor security cameras guides. Our top pick is compact and inexpensive.

If you need a thing that can go out or connect to a mobile network because there is no Wi-Fi, I recommend this Arlo camera in my best outdoor security camera guide. But it is expensive and if Wi-Fi is not available, a cell service plan is required.

    Bonus trips

Here are some bonus tips that can help your family travel a little more smoothly. Bon Voyage!

Although it is always a good idea that you run in a position of running in a store or service, which does not accept the card, you can also get plastic that is widely accepted and enables you to change money with some taps. I love Intelligent card And use it on all my trips as it provides immediate electronic currency exchange in the app with decent rates for many major currencies. You also get a contactless visa debit card that you can use on your trip. Remember, whenever you get an option, paying in local posture is usually the best (cheap).

Photos and videos can help you preserve the main attraction of your holiday to bore you with your expanded family and friends, but they are also good for looking back and watching in future years. The best camera is what you have, so perhaps your phone, but if you want to up your game, consider our best compact cameras, best 360 cameras and best action camera guides.

We always travel to light because it means that bags at the airport do not wait and make it very easy to shut down on buses and trains. Check our best carry-on accessories guide for recommendations, but always check the airline rules for the size of the bag before leaving. On our last trip, I used it Ecster Travelpack Vacuum Kit ($ 129) To squeeze more to compress my clothes. If you are living in an airbnb or rented apartment, you can always wash clothes, so you do not need to pack so much.
