Brave Block Windows Remember your browsing activity from screenshots

Brave software says its privacy-centered browser will miss Microsoft’s Windows by capturing the screenshot of brave window by default to protect the privacy of users.

Windows recall is an opt-in Windows feature that takes screenshots of active window every few seconds, analyzes them, and Windows 11 enables users to find lessons within the snapshot using the natural language. The goal is that it is easy for users to get information about the previous activities in Windows quickly.

However, this feature has widely criticized Windows users’ sensitive data potentially, including passwords, emails, health records and financial information.

Microsoft enhanced security by providing methods for software providers for software providers to get out of Windows Recall for software providers and to achieve data with Windows Hello Enhanced Sign-in Security (ESS).

Brave has now decided to continuously enable a technical feature that prevents the contents of its windows from capturing.

A new reading reads, “Focusing on the focus of brave on the focus on privacy-convenient lapse and what is at stake here (your entire browsing history), we have constantly recalled for all brave tabs,” A new read Brave announcement,

“We think it is important that your browsing activity on brave does not accidentally end in a frequent database, which is especially cooked for abuse in extreme-fifth-sensitive cases such as intimate partner violence.”

A Brave githb issue It is said that developers have used Microsoft Setinputscope API And set the input scope on IS_Private for all browser windows. This tells Windows that the material should not be captured or sequential by recall.

“Microsoft says that a web browser can use setinputscope to set the scope to ensure that is_private, to ensure that the user does not save the browsing history,” Brave GITHUB reads the problem.

“We can force all the windows to be right in render_widgate_host_wuse.”

The change is already live in the brave nightley build and will roll out for a stable release in the coming weeks. For those who want to use recall, you can enable it through brave settings.

In May, the encrypted messenger signal recalled Windows by enabling the DRM management flag at the program, which prevents Microsoft’s software from taking screenshots of the program.

However, this method can cause issues with accessibility software, such as screen readers, so the signal also provides a way to close this setting.
