According to the Journal App Apple, the iPad and Mac Computer are coming with its respective upcoming operating system (OS) updates. IOS 17.2 introduced with 17.2, in 2023, Jernling app helps users to write their ideas, suggests what to write, and maintain a daily log, operated by on-device machine learning. So far, the Journal app is available only on the iPhone, but cupertino-based tech giants will soon expand the support to include more equipment in their portfolio.

In WWDC 2025, Apple previewed for iPados 26 and Macos Tahoe 26 updates for iPad and MAC computers respectively. In addition to all new features and reforms for existing people, the company also announced the expansion of its Journal App (Review) for the above products.
This step matters a lot because both apple equipment, especially iPad, are better suited for the app. The Journal App on iPad will provide support for apple pencil, allowing users to include pictures and handwriting with notes they have written. They can also add media files, audio recording and other elements to make them more detailed.

Meanwhile, Mac computers are equipped with a physical keyboard that provides a more basic way of typing unlike the on-screen keyboard of the iPhone. Apple says that users can keep many magazines for various events in their lives and all of them will be coordinated in Apple devices. They will also have access to a map view that sorts the journal entries depending on the location.
According to the company, the Journal app allows users to browse through previous entries, bookmark them, and even discovering specific moments by applying filters to photos, locations, workouts, and more. They can lock entries using touch ID or face ID to keep them safe from eyes. The moments written in the journal app are called end-to-end encrypted and stored on iCloud.
The app takes advantage of on-device machine learning to cure individual suggestions based on user activity. It can help write about moments like new places, which they have seen, the songs they have heard, or the photos they have captured. After the OS update is released at the end of this year, it will be available on the iPad and MAC computer.
