Apple is discovering the idea of bringing an AI tool such as Perplexity for Safari-a potential shake-up for dominance of Google in the place in place. Google is currently the top search engine 4.9 billion users,
The news came to light during testimony in the ongoing antitrust trial against Google of the US Department of Justice.
Senior Vice President of Apple, Eddy Q revealed Bloomberg This company is seriously considering selecting users from a wide range of AI search engines in future versions of safari.
Why does it matter

Google currently estimates Apple $ 20 billion per year To remain a default search engine on Apple devices. If Apple begins to give users more AI-powered options-even as secondary options-it can indicate a significant change of how we reach online information and discover revenue flows in the technical industry.
Q also noted that the safari search traffic has declined for the first time in April 2025, making users a rapidly towards AI platforms, so that the questions could answer and find information.
Can AI search engine be included? While no official timeline has been announced, Apple is allegedly looking at:
- Openai Puffy, A potential contender, especially rival Mithun Live with its voice and memory.
- Specialty AI, Rapidly growing search engine is known for real -time quotes and brief summary
- Anthopropic CloudWho is earning praise for his argument and clarity.
Adding these tools to the safari does not necessarily be replaced by Google as a default (not yet yet), but it will allow users to reach these condensed AI engines directly from the browser interface.
Ground level
Apple ARMS remains relatively calm in the race, but the move shows that it is paying attention to how AI is changing the user’s behavior.
With the hope of the introduction of its new Apple Intelligence features in WWDC 2025, it can just begin a very big innings on how Apple AI includes AI in its ecosystem.
For now, Google Search is still a default, but the way you search from your iPhone may seem very different in the near future. What do you think of using AI within the safari? Let me know in the comments.
