Digital foundry Switch 2 has presented its technical review for Pokémon Scarlett and Violet, the latest generation has received a very adequate performance update for the latest console of Nintendo.
All things were considered, it seems that it has proved to be a very positive result for sports (although one, which came too late), with a significant boost with visual quality and frame rate.
To begin, the game views are much more cleaner than before and, according to DF, “hold well on 4K television sets”. With a solid 1080p internal resolution in the game, more or less shimmering is finished. Although certainly not confirmed, it is estimated that the game is possibly using Nvidia’s DLSS technology to increase the scenes slightly.
The frame rate is also a huge improvement, running on a decent 60fps for most parts. Here and there are some dips-especially during busy scenes-but it is a night and day difference when you will expect to look at switch 1 than sub-30fps.
Similarly, distant letters and objects now move in full animation sequences instead of strange, nervous animation seen on switch 1. It can be applied to trainers running in the open world and even notorious windmills, which now moves smoothly at a distance. The loading time is also much better, with a rapid journey now taking average between 3 and 4 seconds every time you can see anything on switch 1 for 15 seconds.
Although some areas have not been touched, however. The draw distances are largely the same in both console, while pop in is still an issue on Switch 2. Pokémon is still not either frequent, so if you are to leave a specific area, then the same Pokémon you saw earlier will not stay there. Keep an eye on those shins.
Overall, it is a very essential improvement, and in fact scarlets and violet plays a fairly pleasant experience compared to switch 1. It still seems a bit rough, of course, with a block texture and brand environment, but the performance-wise, it is very welcome, in fact.
