When it comes to streaming and conferencing gear, Elgato is a company that I really appreciate. They make some of my favorite streaming gear great keylights, and are also behind some of the best webcams. The facecam line of the brand has impressed us since its installation with Lagato’s first webcam in 2021 and still continues with facecam MK.2. We are sitting in the list of cute cameras. Now, we are treated for the latest in that lineup because Elgato releases the facecam 4K, and I am only going to glasses here, but it actually looks like a great webcam.
Elgato facecam 4K external of the gate presents some impressive details. We look at the same Elgato Prime lens, which is combined with a better 1/1.8 “Sony Starvis 2 CMOS sensor on MK. 2. The guarantee that the camera is capable of capturing with its own optics, and makes a great base for the rest of the performances for this webcam.

Some young crew may not be familiar with them, as the filters are usually digital here in 2025, but they are definitely present. And now they can be present on your camera, which I think it will be a lot of fun to play with more creative streamers and content creators. 4K in this facecams name is not just for the show. These can record HDR videos up to 4K at 30 FPS. You can also catch until 4K 30 unplaced videos until you have obtained bandwidth in your USB. If you are after higher frimittees and usually dial your setup to dial it to the best suit, you can drop the resolution to 1080.
Through Elgato’s camera hub software you can dial a bunch of this accessories and play with other effects. This includes full pan and tilt control, digital preset, and if you are packing an NVidia RTX card, you can potentially reach additional features such as background blur.
If Lagato’s facecam says on 4K tin, I think we can be a contenders for a new top webcam on our hands. It is launching at $ 200 USD, which actually looks like a really decent upgrade from 1080p60 FACECAM, does not seem unfair for it who still retails for $ 140. $ 60 for better sensors, upgraded lenses, 4K capabilities, and all those sweet strange lenses look very meaningful and I think it will become a head for many streams in the near future.
