The Elgato Stream Deck is expanding in a hardware-unknown platform. On Monday, the company unveiled a software version of the programmable shortcut device. Also there are a module for integration in third-party products and DIY projects on TAP, with an Ethernet doc and an updated stream deck mk.2 scissors-switch keys.
Stream deck mk.2 scissors keys
Popular stream deck is a new version of MK.2. The only difference is that this version dug up the keys of the membrane in the side of the scissors-switch. In the scissors keys (found on multiple laptops like modern MacBooks) (still available) in heritage mk.2 is a shorter travel distance and sharp activity than Muslim-pelting.
Stream deck mk.2 scissors keys cost $ 150. Shipment begins around the beginning of June.
Virtual stream deck
Virtual stream deck (VSD) is only one software-level equivalent of classic devices. Like the hardware versions, VSD contains a familiar grid of the programmable shortcut button. Anything you will configure for devices like stream deck MK.2 or XL, you can also do for VSD. Place the interface anywhere on your desktop, pin it for quick access or trigger it with a mouse click or hotki.
Possibly to avoid cannibalism to its hardware business, Elgato is limiting VSD to the owners of its equipment. Initially, it will be available only to those who have deck hardware stream or select coursa peripherals (The Accene Edge and Skimiter Elite V C Mouse). The company says that VSD will soon be rolled out for owners of additional equipment.
There is a disappointing requirement of VSD. It only works when one of those compatible items is connected to your computer. Unfortunately, this means that you cannot use it as a virtual stream deck replacement, mirrors your shortcuts when you and your laptop move. It sounds like a missed opportunity.
Instead, it is like a supplement to stream the deck hardware while connecting – a way to get more shortcuts than secondary support. It is also a method for CORSAIR Accessory owners to get a stream deck functionality without purchasing.
Despite this, the virtual stream deck stream deck launches with 7.0 beta software.
Stream deck module
The stream deck module can be made in the hardware made by Algato. So, hobbies, startups and manufacturers can include OLED shortcut buttons in their DIY projects or products. The only difference is their more flexible nature. Otherwise, they act similar to heritage stream deck products.
The stream deck module consists of an aluminum chassis that is “ready to leave a custom mount, machine or product directly in the product.” They are available in six–1, 15- and 32-key variants.
Modules start shipping today. You will pay $ 50 for the six-key version, $ 50 for 15-cannon a $ 130 and $ 200 for the 32-key version. (If you are providing them for an outfit, Elgato gives volume discount.)
Algeto network dock
The Elgato network dock stream deck device gives its own Ethernet connection. This opens shortcuts from the desktop, allowing for “custom installation, remote stations and more”.
The network dock supports both POE (POE) and Non-Poly Network Power. You can set its IP configuration on-device.
Dock costs $ 80 and the cost of ships in August.
