Microsoft has announced that the exchange server subscription version (SE) is now available to all customers of its enterprise email service.
As the company explained, the Exchange Server SE RTM Build released this week can be installed as a cumulative update (CU) on the exchange server 2019 CU15 or CU14 running CU14, and it can also be included in the current exchange server 2019 or exchange server 2016 organizations.
While the exchange server SE does not include the major code upgrade or change, and the exchange does not introduce new features or installation conditions compared to the 2019 CU15, it changes the way to change in a licensed and serving manner.
“Exchange server introduces changes in SE how the exchange is serving and licensed. Unlike previous versions, the Exchange SE is ruled by modern life cycle policy,” Microsoft explained,
“This means that there is no fixed end date for support, provided that the configurations are on. The product will be served as a constant evergreen release, with no additional major, year-based versions plans for future release.”

The announcement follows Microsoft’s warning in April that the exchange 2016 and exchange 2019 will reach the end of support on 14 October.
In January, the company also reminded that the exchange server 2016 and the exchange server 2019 will stop receiving technical assistance starting in October. A year ago, also Said This will not expand the date of the end-off-life, provide extended support, or provide extended security updates (ESUs) for exchange 2016 or exchange 2019.
Exchange 2016 reached its own Mainstream support end date In October 2020, while the Exchange 2019 reached the end of the mainstream support on 9 January 2024.
“While the RTM release of the Exchange SE is currently the same as the Exchange 2019 CU 15, it will not be a matter. After the support for the support of Exchange 2016 and 2019 in October 2025, the exchange SE will be the only supported on-reprimage version of the Exchange,” Microsoft added,
“It will create unique opportunities in the coming years to simplify, streamline and modernize the product. We will continue to release the exchange se cus on the same rhythm of the two cus per calendar, will be released as per the requirement of safety or hotfix updates.”
