Finally, wireless earbuds that can easily replace my Bose and Sony for all-day listening

    ZDNET Highlights

    • The Status Pro

I’ve tested so many headphones and earbuds these days that it’s becoming harder to tell them apart. But I have never tested a pair like this one status x pro earbudsThese earbuds set the bar pretty high.

If you haven’t heard of Status, it may be because they’ve only existed for about nine years (not a stretch in the ever-evolving world of audio technology). When I first got Status Pro X, I didn’t think much of it. I haven’t unboxed them yet, but could see the form factor on the box and wasn’t immediately impressed.

    I don’t know.

    my experience

Let’s cut to the chase: The Status Pro In fact, they sound so good that I didn’t want to stop listening. They had a clarity I haven’t heard in earbuds at this price range, and the soundstage was amazing. Additionally, I found the design of the earbuds beautiful. This is a big change from my favorite earbuds, the Denon PearlL Pro, which are big and a little clunky. As for the Pixel Buds Pro, they look silly compared to the Status Pro

I was very surprised, if I prefer the Status Pro. This is because the Status Pro Both earbuds have great, dynamic bass, but the Status Pro

Also: These $300 Swarovski earbuds aren’t my style, but their sound quality has me hooked

In fact, the Status Pro This is an achievement that not many earbuds can match. Often, a pair of earbuds will win in some frequencies but lose in others.

Yes, you can always adjust the sound of most earbuds with the associated app, but I evaluate earbuds based on how they sound out of the box (and then adjust them as needed).

Status Pro This makes a huge difference, my friends, especially for people who either don’t want to struggle with EQ or who don’t know what EQ is.

    In-ear Status Pro

    Jack Wallen/ZDNET

How do these earbuds achieve this feat? Multiple drivers. Most earbuds stick with a single driver design, but the Status Pro The multi-driver setup enables incredible separation of sound and smooth detail.

During my entire testing time with the Status Pro If I didn’t know their prices ($249 on the official site), I’d swear they cost at least double that. Impressive.

Now, I tried enabling Android’s LDAC codec to 990/Kbps/090/Kbps, but found that the connection got much worse, so I switched it back to Best Effort. I also had HD audio enabled. Both of these features are only available within Developer Options.

Plus: One of the best pair of high-quality sounding earbuds I’ve tested is only $70

Even without the high-end LDAC setting, these earbuds easily outperform every pair of earbuds I own. Every song and genre I put on the Status Pro From Rush, Leprous, Purity Ring, Spiritbox, Cocteau Twins, Gary Numan and many more – they all came to life through these.

The fit is where things aren’t so great. To get a good seal with these earbuds, you’ll need to pull your ear up when inserting them and make sure you’re using the correct size tips. If you just jam the Status Pro But when you place them properly, you start dancing and smiling a lot.

    ZDNET’s shopping advice

You will not find better sounding earbuds at this price. At this price these are the best pair of earbuds I’ve tested. Heck, the status pro x earbuds They’re better than every pair of earbuds I’ve tested or used (from cheap to expensive and everything in between).

These earbuds sound so good that I would challenge any other company to send me earbuds that they believe can unseat the Status Pro

Just buy these and forget about those useless earbuds you’ve been using for years.

    Status Pro

    • Triple driver setup (dual Knowles balanced armature drivers and one 12″ dynamic driver)
    • -52db active noise cancellation
    • AI speech enhancement
    • bluetooth 5.3
    • IP55 water resistance
    • 3 beamforming mics
    • 8 hours of battery life on a single charge (total 24 hours using the charging case)
    • optical wear sensor
    • 24-bit/96 kHz audio over Bluetooth
    • LDAC support for audio up to 990Kbps
    • Both touch and physical button controls
