I have spent the last few weeks with Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7, and I am more confident than ever: Flip phones are better smartphones. So why Apple is the company that once defines the smartphone again, sitting on the shore?
I have some principles, and I think an Apple iPhone Flip will be luxurious, if the Apple can bring anything new to flip the phone.
Flip phone is the best phone design, and I’ll not question
Before we debate Apple’s objectives, let’s agree on a simple fact – smart flip phones are better than flat phones. The reason is simple: two screens.
Today’s Galaxy Z Flip 7 or Moto Razra provides a new philosophy of dysplay use on Ultra. It is a palm -shaped communicator, which is ready to take a selfie without navigating, messaging, or opening the phone.
This is a way to control my smart home without falling into the black hole of my main screen distractions. These displays are so large and capable, they provide more screen real estate than the entire original iPhone.
Price excuse is also dead. Flips are used to carry a heavy premium, but the price of today’s Galaxy Z Flip 7 is similar to the Flat Galaxy S25 Edge. I will flip over that flat galaxy on any day of the week.
So, what is the excuse of Apple?
If flip phones are so great, where is the iPhone Flip? Apple is not afraid of new categories-it sells clocks, glasses, set-top boxes, smart home speakers in addition to phone and tablet.

An iPhone flip, however, would really need to do something new. And if I am honest, I have not seen that kind of newness from cupertino in a long time.
Software is the last sticking point
The biggest obstacle can be completely something else: what will an iPhone flip do? Apple’s greatest strength is not just a device; It is a spontaneous software ecosystem that binds them together.
