When Samsung started its updated super sleek design language on the Galaxy S25 Edge, it was a novel way to resume S25+ as a more attractive device. But when the company gave the same treatment to Z Fold 7, this engineering actually became some transformative. Compared to its predecessor, Samsung’s larger fold for 2025 is 10 percent lighter at just 215 grams. The major decline comes in thickness with the Galaxy Z fold 7, which measures 26 percent thin (only 8.9 mm when folded). What can be impressive that Samsung has not actually cut the corners to distribute the streamlined dimensions of Z fold 7. The biggest drawback on the potentially fold 7 is that its 3x optical zoom pixel 9 Pro cannot match the 5x telephoto cam on the fold. But for fans of group shots, Samsung added a new selfie camera, with a new selfie camera with a 100-degree scene.
Battery life and charging: solid longevity, but still QE2 is ready
While the 4,400mAh battery of Z fold 7 is the same size as its predecessor, you will get a little growing longevity due to better power efficiency than its processor. In our local video randdown test, Z fold 7 lasted for 20 hours and 50 minutes when its main 8-inch display and 26 hours and 22 minutes were used with its exterior screen. Depending on which display you use, it is between 45 minutes and an hour that we have received from the previous model, which is good to consider battery life, already very solid.
Sadly, when it comes to recharging, Samsung has not changed much. The Z fold 7 supports wired charging up to 25 watt – which is average for modern flagships – 15 watt wireless with charging. And like the rest of the 2025 premium Galaxy line, this phone is only QE2 ready, which means that there are no built -in attachment systems for magnetic goods such as charging cooks, card holders and battery packs. So if you want to use peripheners like them, you will have to get a case with full support for QE2.

With its latest flagship foldable, Samsung has removed one of the remaining obstacles that prevents people from trying the new breed of phone: excessive shape and weight.
By widening its cover display, the Z fold 7 looks like a regular smartphone and works, which is very good for checking messages, viewing directions or taking photos. When you really want to be immersed in a show, movie or game, you can open that beautiful flexible display that is now even bigger for your pleasure. The high-razing main camera of the phone also brings advanced image quality while its Snapdragon 8 Elite Chip gives it a performance edge on rivals such as Pixel 9 Pro Folds.
I do not like how Samsung is retreating on features from removing the camera cutouts of an old school by removing S Pen Support and removing the camera cutout of an old school instead of under-display sensors. But in the case of at least the latter, this change comes with a much better image quality, which is a large upgradation for video calls.
With the Galaxy Z Fold 7, you actually get the best of both the world. Its new design is the same as smooth as comparable traditional flagships hiding a large performance that obsolect small tablets. Unfortunately, with an initial price of $ 2,000, Samsung has not addressed the last road, which prevents people from trying to try a tool that can completely change the way your phone uses.
