
Openai is creating new features within the chatgpt that will make it a direct competitor with workplace productivity suites like Google workplace and Microsoft Office 365, Information Informed Tuesday ZDNET has reached Openai for comment.

New features include allegedly collaborative document editing capabilities, such as transcription offered by Google Docs and a team chat function. If released, they will mark the latest initiative of Openai to convert chat into AI accessory.
While Openai has not yet officially announced any plan to build its own workplace productivity suit, such an effort has increased its competition with Google, whose web search traffic has already taken a hit from the rise of generative AI-operated options such as chat and perplexity.
A Chatgpt productivity suit will also compete directly with similar software from Microsoft, further complex what a dirty relationship is already. Both companies have been strategic partners since 2019, Microsoft has provided Openai, which requires to train its state -of -the -art models with most financial backing. Microsoft, in turn, gains the right to integrate Openai’s technology in its main products, including its bing search engine, which was later re -prepared to Microsoft Copilot.

Microsoft currently owns about 49% stake in Openai’s for-Profit Arm, but both companies are now Allegedly On reorganizing the terms of their deal. Meanwhile, Openai is removing itself from its dependence on Microsoft’s cloud service, recently entering an unexpected strategic partnership with Google, one of its biggest contestants in the ongoing AI race.
The sudden demand for generative AI tools in recent years has inspired both Google and Microsoft to fuse technology in their workplace productivity suites (Google Workplace and Microsoft Office 365, respectively). But Openai can have a technical benefit in this regard, as its rival offering these platforms will be made from the ground around its major chatbot.
