The OA4 currently holds my award for the Best Budget Action Camera, and is a malignant professional 4K action camera with a variety of powerful features. If you are looking for a device for construction of material in this summer – without breaking the bank – not look forward.
An old, but one (very) good
These days, the action camera is very much liked in the Arena, with a lot of competition between DJI, Gopro and Insta 360. The budget options are slightly more restricted.
There are inexpensive ‘latest models’ cameras, such as Akaso Brave 8 Lite, and even Gopro Hero (2024). These cameras have large shortcomings, however, in terms of video performance, features and purposes.
Your best condition is if looking for an old model in search of an action camera on the budget. But old Does not Bad it means. DJI Osmo Action 4 is technically a “old model”, which has succeeded in 2024 by epic DJI Omoso Action 5 Pro (which topped our action came roundup). But it is still a seriously good camera for hardcore material creators.
OA4 packs 4K videos up to 120fps, as well as D-Log Recording for the increased dynamic range (although you will need to grade yourself in this footage). It has very good internal microphones, but can basically hook for DJI Mike 2 and DJI MIC Mini for audio devices – both are considered among the best microphones for the material creators.

In last year’s Black Friday events, and earlier this year, I saw the OA4 drop as $ 209 for the standard combo. This is $ 40 cheaper than the current deal value.
If you want to wait for a sales phenomenon, there is a chance that you may be able to shave more money, however, we are only talking about $ 40. During the previous events, the decline of those prices was also pre-tariffs, so there is no guarantee that we will see them again.
All of them, I still think that $ 249 is a very reasonable price for such a strong action camera, so the deal still warns my recommendation.
In the UK, where OSMO Action 4 is currently on sale for only £ 189, it is a total no-brainer. This is a wildly cheaper price for such a professional action camera. This super-budget is £ 10 less than Gopro Hero (2024), and it is not in the same league as the camera DJI.
