Framework laptop is the third major product in 12 lineups so far. The company first launched Framework Laptop 13 in 2022, followed by a large (more powerful) 16 -inch model. But the 12 -inch laptop is unique, however, it is not only the smallest, but also the cheapest, the framework brings philosophy to a new demographic. Framework laptop 12 student laptops, especially similar to chrombooks. These are designed to face some misuse, making it a suitable fit for schools.
Although it uses just a 12.2 -inch screen, its overall footprint on the table is slightly larger than you receive. It also means that it cannot open easily with one hand. There is no lip for your finger, so you will need both hands to open it. Thankfully, the quality of the build is decent. It is made of plastic, yes, so give something to the keyboard and lid. But the framework says that it has a “internal metal structure” that makes it feel strong. It does not look attractive at all. The framework is also using “overmold, shock-absorbed” thermoplastic to strengthen the edges, ensuring that it is not nick or dent. It is not the opposite of what you see on the budget chrombook for class.
The quality of the display is a hit or miss. The biggest obstacles for color performance and are overall laptops. The good news is that it is very fast at 1,920 x 1,200-pixel resolution and is quite bright, which is maximum at 434 notes of brightness. It helps.
While the performance has its own drawbacks, the framework laptop 12 has some strong points. The first is the keyboard, which looks fantastic to type with its 1.5-milter key trip. Perhaps even more surprising that touchpad. It is common to see a unique touchpad at this price that feels climk to swipe or to swipe hard, loud click mechanisms. I also like this on cheap laptops, such as Asas Vivobook 14. But the framework laptop 12 has a high-end touchpad that is smooth and responsible as every bit to use as a MacBook or Microsoft surface. It does not give the optic reaction like those, but the click mechanism is cool and accurate. This framework laptop may look like a small reason to like 12, but as parts of the laptop you interact directly, they go a long way towards feeling premium instead of cheap.
