During its 12 -day openiI holiday campaign, the company launched a project feature, which helps users to organize and customize their chats in chat. Nine months later, that day has arrived, projects are being rolled out for users starting today.
How do projects work
Each project acts as a hub, or as Openai calls it, “a smart workspace” for your chat and that material you want to chat for reference. When creating a project, you can include a title, a customized folder color, relevant project files, and custom instructions for Chatgpt how it can help you the best with the project at one place.
So, for example, if you are a student, you can start a red folder called “intro to machine learning,”, upload your notes, PDF, powerpoints and other class content, instruct you to input to answer each question as it was a tutor, and then ask. This can then answer your questions using your reference in regular chat format.

You can also add a previous chat to your project from the sidebar. The chat can be saved in the project, making it easier to take your conversation later and find out what really to see.
Beyond being available to free users, the projects also received some other useful updates, including uploading large files per project, the ability to select colors and icons for a clear difference and the ability to select colors and icons and only-pro-level memory control.
