If you have ever seen the X100VI said to itself, “Dude, I want Fujifilm to just create an interchangeable lens version of this camera,” consider your request. Four years after the release of X-E4, the company has X-E5 announcedA compact, $ 1,699.95 camera that should appeal to the same crowd who loves X100VI.
Inside, the X-E5 has the latest X-trans CMOS 5 HR sensor of Fujifilm. This is the same sensor that you will find on X100VI, X-T5 and X-T50. It is capable of capturing 40.2-megapixel stills, and video 6.2K and 30 frames per second. Thanks to improve the pixel structure of the sensor, the X-E 5 offers a native 125 ISO, and an AI-based autofocus to catch moving subjects such as animals, birds, insects, motorcycles, aircraft and more.
The new in-body image for X-E5 is also included in IBIS. It provides up to seven stops of stabilization near the center of the frame and stops towards six stop perimeter.
Fujifilm has also once again twent the exterior of the camera. If the X-E4 was a little minimal to your taste, the good news is that the X-E5 has a front grip where Fujifilm had removed it with it on X-E4. The top plate of the camera is mechanized with a piece of aluminum, an additional that the X-E5 must feel more premium than its predecessor. At the top, you will find all normal dials, in which one for shutter speed and another exposure for compensation.
There is also a completely new dial dedicated to Fujifilm’s film simulation. In addition to common presets such as classic chrome and velvia, you can save three of your three dishes for easy access. As before, the outer LCD can flip the 180-degree to make it easier to capture selfie and Vlog.
Fujifilm has also re-designed the visualization of X-E5. It provides two new mode. First, there is a “classic” mode, which simplifies the interface, so it is more what you will find on an old film camera. All your exposure settings are displayed in a darker red color under the screen, with light meters present on the side. Alternatively, the other new mode, “surround view,” displays a black, semi-transparent or mentioned area outside the ratio you have a prescribed aspect ratio. In practice, it should make it easier to frame your shots.
With X-E5, Fujifilm Announced a new pancake lensXF23mm f/2.8 r wr. This is a complete break as compared to the fixed, 35 mm equivalent you will find on the X100VI, but it is about the same size and should be too fast to focus on thanks to the inclusion of a direct current motor.
Fujifilm will offer X-E5 in black and silver. The camera will start from August. At just $ 1,699.95 for the camera body, X-E5 is doubled as its predecessor. In fact, it is more expensive than $ 1,599 x100VI, with a leaf shutter and hybrid optical viewer. Personally, I am sad about this because I recommended the X-E4 for a great starter camera. Now I will need to ask people to see elsewhere.
