    Soundtrack Sunday

Welcome to Soundtrack Sunday, where a member of the PC gamer team takes a look at the soundtrack from one of his favorite games – or a wide look at the videogame music – recommendations for a small backstory and track you must join your playlist.

On July 22, 2025, it was observed that everywhere Metalheads go into mourning as Ozi Osbourne – The Prince of Darkness and Heavy Metal’s early pioneers dye at the age of 76 with their band Black Sabbath.

While his direct participation in videogame was very low for years, it is difficult to deny how much his influence has tricked our very loving hobbies. As a sabbath lover and partner Broomi, Osborne’s death reflected me on my own journey with metal music, and spent playing videogames with all kinds of heavy refers in the formal years that went to shape my strange small emo nard self.

While the games are well known to borrow from Rockin’s licensed music, there is also an incredibly clean original score pile that draws from an alternative scene. Here are some of my personal favorite, there are recommendations from the PC gamer team that I heard and really loved.

Final Fantasy 10 is a game that is often scored by sad piano twinkling and delicate wire. After all, this is a game about sending a young girl to her death, while we fall in love with her gradually as a hero. This is a beautiful heart -wrenching story!

It also makes others even more of the rest of its soundtrack. A heavy metal piece that plays during the first cutting of the game opens things with a bang. It is written by mythological class composer Noboo Utsu, with the songs of local Alexander O Smith and performed by Xtillidiex Frontman Bill Muir.

The final imaginary 10 opens in a dead silence, after the final fictional 10 is challenged in the false sense of safety to play on the title screen. The camera slowly descends on the hero tidus, zoom to his eye. It opens, and along with it crashes in a hard-K-nail refuge for others.

Not only this is a ridiculous propaganda way to kickstart a jrpg, the song is in itself. It is a mainstay in my gym playlist for a hot second, for a good reason. While the final imaginary chain has used metal tracks in subsequent sports, nothing has reached the higher level of other people for me.

Stay up to date with the most important stories and best deals, as chosen by the PC gamer team.

It is safe to say that Killer Instinct Gold on Nintendo 64 is probably the first time my young ear is witness to Rock and Metal Music. The construction of instinct tension is a real masterclass – N64 and rare logo flash on screen, the theme songs quietly bubbles away in the background, teasing with only a few tools.

Then the title screen explodes on the screen, kicks the song throughout the gear as a melodic guitar goes away in the background. Music composer Robin Beenland absolutely Cooked On the original killer instincts and killer Instinct 2 soundtracks, even managing to manage to manage to create something that was N64’s inferior audio cards and limited memory that was close to the latter arcade version.

Mick Gordon also did a great job to rebuild the subject when Killer Instinct revived in 2013. He manages to take and manufacture instinct’s core DNA, which causes it to punchy, while playing on the iconic refuge of the theme, while successfully maintaining the initial buildup, kept separate devices together before kicking in the main meat of the track.

Its Real Nice, And Gordon is talking a little Hold back to block Super interesting about the process of recurring the song – you get to hear some of the first concepts that they had put together for the track, none of which keep a candle for the final product if you ask me.

Have I ever played metal gear rising: Ravensance. Not sure! Do I think the law of nature is a sheer work? Sure!

It is one of the songs that actually helps to set tone for the game, as I have been described by countless of my metal gear rising Anandar Pulse. If you cannot already tell, I am a total sucking for rock and metal songs that gradually create tension with layering instruments and vocals, and the laws of nature are no different.

Jason Charles Miller – In fact, a reputed singer who has not only created a group of goods in the music industry, but also lended her voice in the choice of guilty gear and final imaginary 14 for a handful of songs – which stops with some super melodic vocals before shouting the ingredient song title, and the whole thing kills the kick.

It is one of the songs that then ensure that ‘with the laws of nature with everything’ with the laws of nature ‘and the choice of hell, ensure that themselves motivate themselves to the status. Very funny, Miller did not even know about the meme for many years. Probably a by -product of their vocals is not being given on the track until the bottom of the line.

Well, it is an incredibly niche pick. I also need to accept that I have not yet received enough around Allen Wake 2, coming from our senior editor Robin Valentine’s with this recommendation. After giving 13 minutes long Listen to version A (also a version that is 30 minutes and one that is three), I can definitely see the appeal.

I will tell Robin what is good about this track. He works better than me:

Heavy Metal secured a special place in the shared universe of Remedy’s Games. Asgard’s fictional band Old Gods not only contribute to the three allen wake games and the soundtrack, but its members also appear as decisive characters- Rockchers, whose music has really changed the world. His songs, the real finish band poets of the Fall, reduces the most memorable moments in all four matches. The Herald of Darkness Sequence of Alan Wake 2 is particularly incredible – a playable rock opera, the use of music as a camp window in Allen’s mind and he is stuck himself.

Rip and tears – doom 2016

This will be remembered to talk about sick videogame tracks, while perfectly ignoring one of the most metal videogames. Now I believe that I have never played doom, but have I been stopped from top-to-boatm to it? no way.

Mick Gordon is already Technically This list created an appearance, but it is for a good reason. His work is a staller, a metal composer in the videogame space. He also did a group of work on one of the favorite EPS of all my time, brought me The Horizon Post Human: Survival Horror.

His work on Doom 2016 is some of my favorite, and RIP & Tear is one of the tracks I go back to time and time. Guitar and drums are all emotional as hell, and it surprises me to know that ID software did not really want to use Gordon as a guitar-of course that the studio did not want a metal soundtrack, worrying that it would be “corn” despite the original game that is going to all the heavy metal.

Thankfully it is okay to be wrong, and Gordon was able to erase some clipping in the mixture to produce a stunning, tear, infallible metal ost, which plays with my countless watch-hem of the doom, realizing that it hoses the DNA of the game.

Okay, okay, keep your anti-gunar pitchforce down. Nickke: Devi’s victory has a lot, well, breast and butts – it is the same developer as a stellar blade, after all – but it also packs a surprisingly recreational story and, more importantly, a killer soundtrack.

This is because a large part of Nikke’s songs is fabricated by some real legends in the game of rhythm – Korean composer Cosmograph is with full -time shift these days, with a fistful contribution with facilities just below the entry.

Cosmograph plays with a whole group of styles in Nickke’s score-some of my favorite non-metal tracks are harvester, splunters hot, and khamsin upper mixture-but you cannot stop that we are one of heavy tracks to create an appearance.

As most rocks and metal scores, you cannot stop us, a very prominent boss the theme that gives huge convenience to the beginning of the game: Chaturbbox, a devastating enthusiasm (think of corrupt machines) that causes considerable reference to the story at the beginning of the story and some time later.

The song starts heavy and maintains that high-octane energy, which seems more than fitting for such a terrible enemy. When you are trying to rock outside, just ignore all the jiggle butts shot on it.

Stay alive – DJ Max Samman V

As a rhythm game I could not meet this list at least One Entering with my favorite style.

Some I accept the game of rhythm completely, just how generous the library of any person’s songs can be. You have got eurodance, drum and bass, house, pop, R&B, and of course, a little rock and metal.

DJ Max Samman is one of the V lya that actually does all this, and you can almost chart Korea’s hobbies for different music styles in the years with each game in the series in the years. This began DJ Max to embrace the heavy side of things for some time, but now it plays some full Bengers, such as Nen’s stay alive.

This is one of the songs depicted in V Extension 4, and almost something seems as if I expected to hear on the kerang! Radio back in the 2010s. It works hard with heavy drums and a Sriki guitar’s referring to the ramping again for some more inauspicious and then the chorus, switching forward and rear between deeply mounting tones and more melodic lyricism.

Whenever I play online lobby with friends, and still play another mainstay on my sometimes growing videogame gym playlist. Just ignore, er, strange AI-related music video. It is better to show off for your health.

    Marionette – Guilty Gear

The guilty gear is the king of Rockin’s fighting game music, and it was difficult to choose only one song from the music excellence of about three decades. But I eventually reached there, and if I had to choose one, it would be the subject of Elflt Valentine: Marionate.

He was introduced in XRD, and his theme song is essentially a Ripin ‘six -minute guitar Solo that has tilted me for every second. It is composed by DiSuke Ishivatari, who is responsible for a complete hosting of Bengers in the series. Oh, and that is also the man who really is created Guilty gear. Almost forgot that small fact.

Marionate feels strangely old school despite being just a decade old, and a mixture of vintage refining with a mixture of modern day gives the whole thing a real unique vibe. I also love something like this about Alphalt’s QT Bridal appearance and its theme song also.

I fully implicate you to tell you about some tracks composed by the rest of the Ishivatari in my series. Now if you forgive me, I want to learn how to play an alphabet while listening to Marionate when repeated for the next several hours.
