Just a few days after launching ‘Search Live’, Google continued to develop Gemini as a solid AI assistant on Android, a long -time missing fan favorite with the latest updates: song identity.
Now you can ask Mithun, “what song is this?” And the chatbot will trigger Google’s song search interface, which is the same listening tool familiar with supporting users.
This can recognize music from your environment, a playlist or even if you tune yourself. I am eager to test how accurate the humming is.
But hold here

The song search is not yet completely native for Mithun. When you ask for the identity of the song, it launches a full-screen auditory interface from the Google app (not directly inside Gemini),
The song identity update works in the Gemini app on Android, but when you type (or speak) “what is this song?” It kills you in the Song search interface of the Google app, virtually handing over to the Google app, which seems to be a slightly climate than the way Pixel plays a supporting handle now.
It does not even remain inside the conversion experience of Gemini Live, which also looks like a miss. And, once it finds a match, the result appears in Google Search, not as an inline Gemini response.
For now, this feature only works on Android; There is no Gemini song identity on iOS yet. If you want to identify many songs in a row, you must manually restart the full-screen song search interface.
Gemini vs Google Assistant

In terms of comparison, the underlying playing feature of Google Assistant is still more comfortable. You can trigger it with a voice command or lock screen shortcut, and this result shows the inline (often with album art) and even works offline.
In contrast, Mithun’s new song search depends on the hearing interface of the Google app. You need to type or say “What is this song?” In Gemini, which then opens a full-screen search window and hand over the result to the Google app.
It is accurate, pulling the same song from the database as an assistant, but the experience is naturally less smooth, as it requires switching apps and does not remain inside Gemini.
Another significant difference: While the game of Google Assistant is now available on most Android devices and pre-installed on the pixel, Gemini’s song search is Android-Cowl for now, and it is not yet available on iOS.
final thoughts
Yes, Gemini can now identify songs, but it is not yet smooth as the Google accessory or pixel play facility.
Nevertheless, if you are using daily Gemini, it brings back the capacity of a major auxiliary-age, which is a good sign that Google is listening to the user’s response because Gemini develops in a more full voice auxiliary.
