Google I/O 2025 Keenote was all about Gemini and AI. But it was nice to see that Chrome Desktop browser also got some new updates and features. While Gemini is still available in every web browser, so far, it is still just a website. Meanwhile, on Android, the Gemini app is deeply integrated into the ecosystem. Thankfully for AI fundamentalists, it can now also do it in Chrome. In addition, the Google password is adding some quality-life upgradation to the management system, as the browser can now change your password for you, automate one of the most tedious but important security tasks.
Mithun comes to Chrome on desktop
starting tomorrow, Gemini Ai in Chrome Google AI Pro will start rolling for and Google Ai Ultra Subscribers in the US, but only in English. Google is starting slow here. The first version would ask users to explain the information on a web page or to briefly tell a page. But in the future, Google plans to add more features, allowing Gemini to navigate websites on your behalf and reach several tabs at once.
Gemini will be available in Chrome toolbar. Clicking on the sparkling icon will bring a floating window that you are free to move anywhere. according to a Demo provided the vergeGemini feature can be used simultaneously between two tabs. In the demo, the user accessed Gemini on a purchasing page, got a summary of the product, and asked it some questions. Then, when they switched to another tab, they used Gemini to compare a new product with one in the old tab. Later in the year, Google says that Gemini will work in more than two tabs, as well.
Chrome can now change your old password for you

Google really wants to help you fix your bad, leaked passwords. Currently, when you use Google Password Manager to sign in a website with a password, which needs to be replaced, Google will ask you if you want to change your password. What is new a button called a button Change it for meWhen you are using a compatible website, you can use this new feature so that Google change your password in the background for you. This new password will then be added to your Google Password Manager. There is no mention that it uses AI, and it is ready to launch at the end of this year, but there is a catch.
What do you think so far?
It is that websites need to update at the end of the developer for the feature to work, so it will take you a little time before adoption.
