Google announced on Thursday that it is rolling Mithun in Chrome for all Mac and Windows desktop users in the US after limiting the capacity of Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra customers. Tech veteran also announced that he is bringing agent capabilities to Chrome in future, adding his AI mode search feature to the address bar, launching new Gemini features, using AI to combat AI-generated scams, rolling out the automated password reset, and more.
American users who have their language set in English can now ask Mithun to clarify the complex information on any web page they are reading using the Gemini icon in the top-right corner of their chrome window. For example, you can open a page that has a banana bread recipe and ask Gemini to make the recipe gluten free.

Gemini can now work in several tabs, allowing users to quickly compare and summarize information on many websites. For example, you can plan your flight, hotels and holidays in many tabs to organize your trip and work with Gemini. Or, you can shop for a new mattress and want to compare all the different models you are looking in in many tabs.
Mithun will soon be able to recover the web pages you see, making it easier to return to the previous browsing sessions without shifting through your browser history. This means that you will be able to ask something like “on which site did I see a walnut desk last week?” Or “The blog I read on back-to-school shopping?”

Additionally, Google Chrome and other Google Apps, such as calendar, youtube and maps are starting a deep integration between Gemini. Google says it will allow users to do things like schedule meeting, location details, and more, without leaving the page that they are. For example, if you are trying to find a specific place in a YouTube video, you can ask Gemini to take it there.
Google notes that AI will be able to complete the auxiliary tedious tasks, such as ordering haircuts or weekly grocery items. Gemini will navigate on the site, add things to your car, and let you take the final action by checking with your payment option.

Google says that new agent capabilities will be available in Chrome in the coming months. It is worth noting that Openai launched the operator, an AI agent, which acts autonomous earlier this year.

Google is also bringing AI mode, its advanced search feature, directly to the chrome address bar. With AI mode, users may ask complex questions with a follow -up to deepening in subjects. For example, instead of searching for “best mattress”, you “I am a side sleeper with lower back pain. Make me a table compared to different mattress types” in the direct address bar. From there, you can ask follow-up questions and continue your discovery with those questions like, “How long do you usually last?”
This update will expand in the US in English at the end of this month and in more countries and languages ββin the future.
Coming in the address bar is also the ability to ask questions about the page you are on. Chrome can now suggest relevant questions based on the page reference to kickstart its discovery on the address bar. Google says that users will get the option to ask follow -up questions with an auxiliary AI observation and AI mode.

The company says Chrome will also be able to use its Gemini Nano model soon, which to detect and save scams such as fake virus alerts and fraudulent gives. These scams often replicate reliable brands and use generic AI to explain fishing efforts, Google notes.
Google also announced that it is using AI to help users to fix the password compromised with one click with one click, such as Coursra, Spotify, Duolingo, H&M, and more. If Chrome warns you that your password data was exposed in the breech, you can allow it to create a new and save it for yourself.
