Gemini is very good, but compared to some other AI assistants, it is still lacking Some? things. There are not many things, but there are still one or two things that we have lacking. Now that is the next best thing for the agent, we are achieving new agentic functionality with scheduled tasks.
Google has officially launched “scheduled works” for Gemini, allowing you to automate future and recurring tasks on Android, iOS and web. This feature will help you set up signs that will run at a particular time, on a specific day or date, or in response to an event. To initiate a scheduled action, a user provides a detailed signal including the desired time and frequency. Gemini then confirms the action and automatically enables it.
You will be able to see your prescribed tasks through a new dedicated section within the Gemini Interface. On mobile devices, it is accessible through the profile menu, while on the web, it can be found in the side panel under “settings and aids”. From this dashboard, users can stop any of their scheduled action, resume or remove. The web interface provides a more strong editor, which changes the functions, modifies the underlying prompt, and sets daily, weekly or monthly recurrence. According to Google, the prompt will be executed within an hour of the scheduled time.
