Google will unveil a new version of its Android design language at its upcoming Google I/O Developer Conference, according to an event schedule posted on its website, as well as accidental Google blog post published. The I/O session title indicates significant changes in the store for the design system of Android, which will develop from “material 3” to “material design 3 expressive”. Leaked blog post indicates that Google’s updated design will focus on creating interfaces that “join with people at the emotional level.”
The design system affects how app developers manufacture for developers and adapt their experiences for users, which prefer to use Android devices, affect its overall experience.
While very little information is still known how the material 3 will be applied, the blog post offered some high-level details, such as the new system is characterized by “building bold use-dominant user experiences”.
The first was introduced in 2014, the material design is Google’s open source design system, which describes how to create a user interface for Android application, including areas such as visual, speed and interaction design. The next biggest update of the system came out in May 2021 as “content you” (also known as material 3), offering an adaptive interface that allowed users to personalize Android interfaces in new ways. For example, if you have updated your Android wallpaper, the entire Android experience will also be updated to match its color scheme.
Material 3 expressive may not be that much larger, but you repetition on the material of which you recur.

The leaked blog post focused more on research and argument behind the update, given how people prefer a more expressive design that improves the purpose when studying. This type of design draws attention to major elements and important user functions, “significant advantages in performance” said Google said.
Note, the company said that this type of design also makes it easier to use apps for older adults, essentially leveling playgrounds for users of all ages.

However, Google reported that the expressive design does not necessarily do “fits all solutions” and various app manufacturers will still need to respect other well-established design patterns and standards while customizing their app interface.
