Google is re -preparing its project Starlline and turning it into a new 3D video communication platform, the company on Tuesday announced at its annual I/O Developer Conference. The dubbed beam enables platform users to connect with each other in a more spontaneous way by converting 2D video stream into 3D experiences. It provides enterprise-grade reliability and compatibility with the Google Cloud platform as well as the company’s AI process with existing workflows. Google says that the beam can receive support for speech translation in real time and will be available in the market starting with HP devices later this year.
Google beam features
Google expands its new beam platform in one blog post. It uses an array of various webcams to catch the user from various angles. Then, AI is used to merge the video stream together and present the 3D light field display. Google says it also has head tracking capabilities, claiming that the accurate for millimeters and 60 frames per second (FPS) are claimed to be accurate.
Google Beam takes advantage of an AI volumetric video model to convert standard 2D video stream into realistic experiences that appear in 3D from any perspective. This, along with the performance of the lighting area, develops a sense of dysm. and depth, allowing you to contact the eyes and read the subtle signals.
According to the company, its new platform project replaces Starlline, which was initially declared in 2021 with the aim of providing a new video communication platform in Google I/O, which was able to show them on a natural scale in 3D, as well as with eye contact and locally accurate audio capabilities. Although the project was not completely physical, it was renovated to create a new 3D video communication platform which is now known as Google Beam.
