Google workpiece users are eventually reaching gems within the apps, the company announced on Wednesday. Gems Custom Artificial Intelligence (AI) are experts who can be programmed to perform specific tasks. They have been available within the Gemini app and website since August 2024, but now the mountain view-based tech giants are finally expanding them in the workpiece apps including Docks, Slides, Sheets, Drives and Gmail. Gems will be available on these platforms through the Gemini side panel.
Gemini gems are coming in Google workpiece apps
One in blog postTech veteran announced to add gems within the Google workspace apps. In particular, this feature is available only to the individual and enterprise workpiece account holders paid, who already have access to the Gemini side panel.
Gems can be understood as a short version of the Gemini Chatbot, where users can add a time to do specific tasks. Users do not need to add the same instructions to repeatedly, to save time. Additionally, the gemstone can also be fed data by adding lessons, files and images to tailor their reactions and improve accuracy.

With the offering of the new side panel, users will find some pre-made gems that they can put to work directly. Some of these include the writing editor, which provides creative response to the written text; Manthan, which provides inspiration and idea for specific projects; Sales pitch ideators, which can create an attractive pitch for customers, and much more.
In addition to pre-made gems, users can also create gems by clicking the “Create a new gem” button on top of the side panel in the GEMS menu. Google says that users can enter the creation menu and specify the role and instructions to create a new gem. They can be programmed to write and analyze code, create posts, provide relevant summary, and much more.
Since this feature is integrated with the workpiece work apps, users can also take output and feed it directly that they are working. Once a gem is formed, it will appear on all the workspace apps.
