The Google Earth now allows you to take you back to the road level for the launch of Historical Street View Imagery. This feature comes for the 20th anniversary of the platform and brings new AI-operated equipment to professional users (such as urban planners) in the US.
Google explore the past in the earth
Google Earth has always helped everyone to see the world from above. Now, it lets you see how roads and neighborhoods have changed over the years. With new updates, you can slide through the old street view image inside Google Earth. Want to see your childhood block again or see the city’s horizon growing? Just move the timeline slider and see how the places in the past were visible.
Till now, the Historical Street View was available only in the Google Maps and Earth Pro Desktop App. This update brings it to the main Google Earth app on web and mobile, making it easier for everyone to use.
Historical Street View Imagery in Google Earth is popular in Google Maps. #SomeWereongooglemaps The trend captured our apathy for the past and currently places. Google Earth’s 20th anniversary It is as good as any time to catch with your milestone.
A digital time machine for us
The new Historical Street View feature Google transforms the earth into more than only one virtual globe. Now, this is a visible time machine. You can find out your history or see how your favorite places have developed. It becomes a playground to see an empty lot, or a cool road turns into a busy neighborhood.
For a long time, I have enjoyed watching a satellite view of my home with Google Earth.
Now, we can satisfy our curiosity about older places by visiting places with broad historical records. For example, New York, London and Paris, etc. are some of my favorite here, which I examined:
Freedom Tower (One World Trade Center) Lower Manhattan, in the city of New York: You can see a part of modern American history because this symbolic structure was increased by reconstruction efforts in ground zero.
Berlin wall in Germany One of the most historically important times. See the collapse of the Berlin wall with massive urban changes after the German reunion.
Kennedy Space Center in Florida NASA’s launch provides a wide historical imagination of facilities and development of the infrastructure of the space program. As a space buff, I head for head SpaceX Starbase in Texas, Also, to see the company’s meteor growth.
Pompei, Italy, And many of its ancient Roman attractions such as Rectangle Theater, Pompei’s Theater, Apollo’s Temple, Tiberius arch and public square.
World Island in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Does the creation of artificial islands resemble a world map.
Also: smart maps for real world problems
It is not about accidental apathy and fun alone. With the time-journey feature, Google is adding powerful new equipment to American professionals. Soon, planners and researchers will see overlays who show the cunflies coverage and the surface temperature of the land. These can help the AI-in-managed insight to plan cities or deal with “urban heat islands” for more green places, where the temperature increases due to lack of trees and much more concrete.
For decision -makers, knowing where trees are missing or temperature spikes can guide smart options. They can plant more trees in the hottest areas or design new parks where they need the most. These upgrade cities can make coolers, greenery and more comfortable for all.
