Google launched Doppl, a new app that actually lets you try on outfits

Google on Thursday launched a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) app, which allows users to actually try on various organizations. Dubbed Dopp, it is an experimental app by Google Labs that was originally considered as a feature within AI mode in search. However, it seems that the mountain view-based tech veterans are now considering creating a standalone experience for this. With this app, the users can only upload a complete-flavored image of themselves, and the underlying AI model will process the body size and will accurately superimpoes objects of different clothing on them.

Doppl is currently available only in America only

One in blog postTech veteran announced the launch of the new app. In Google I/O 2025, the company announced several new AI features for its shopping product integrating deeply into the search experience. One such feature was the virtual tri-on, which used AI to allow people to see themselves in different organizations.

The idea behind the app is that people let themselves see in the dress that they are planning to buy, so that they can take an informed decision on whether they want to buy it or not. It solves the centuries -old dilemma to know whether the shirt will look as good on you as it does on the model.

This is also not the first place of Google in this direction. In 2023, company Pur: An AI feature that showed users to see the fabric on a wide range of real models to help to see how the item looks with a similar body shape.

Doppl now makes that effort more individual because users can only upload a full-flavored image of their own and organization, and see how it will look on them. In i/O, Google said that this feature is powered by a custom fashion-based image generation model that understands the human body and how to fold clothes on various bodies, stretch and drapes.

A good aspect of the app is its purpose. Users are not limited to the options available on online shopping websites, and can also upload the image of their friend’s organization, something that they found in a local store, or even a social media image.

Currently, Doppl is available on iOS and Android in the US. The company has not mentioned whether it is planning to expand it to other areas.
