Google announced in Google I/O 2025 that it is combining several AI-operated features for online shopkeepers, including a new visual panel in Google Search AI mode, individual price tracking notifications with agentic checkouts and virtual tri-on.
New purchasing experience is rolling out in AI mode, where shopkeepers can see the product view and other AI-operated guidance that takes advantage of the product data.
For example, if you search for a travel bag, the results will show you a panel of listing and images that match your taste, which you can easily scroll. And, if you want to narrow things using a more specific query, such as “in May Portland, the suitable bag for the visit to Oregon,” AI mode will run several queries simultaneously-which Google describes as a query “fan-out”-to find the best option for long journeys and rainy season.

It will then update a panel of options to show those who are waterproof and which have easy access to pockets.
As you continue to refine your query or add other specific filters for shopping, the visual panel on the right hand will update to show new options. Google says that these facilities will reach America in the coming months.
The company is also adding a new price tracking facility with agent checkouts in the next months.
Soon, consumers will be able to tap on “track price” on any Google product listing. Then you will be able to select a product, filtering for things like color and shape, and want to spend on that item.

Google will track the price and send you a notification when the price matches the price you wanted to spend. After confirming the details, you can choose to buy the item by tapping a new “buy for me” option.
After clicking on the purchase button, the Google Merchant website adds items to the checkout cart and uses your Google Pay details to secure the purchase.
This feature will initially launch with product listing in the US, says Google.
Another new convenience will allow shopkeepers to actually try on clothes.
While Google has introduced something similar to the virtual tri-on technology, this feature only involves showing items on a diverse range of model bodies. Now, the company will allow you to try clothes on yourself as well. To do this, you will upload a full-flamboyant picture under good light where you are wearing fitted clothes.
Google says that it is using a new circulation model for fashion to understand the human body and how different materials will be bend and stretched on different people.

Google’s virtual tri-on feature is available to users under America Google Search Laboratories starting today. Those users who choose will see a virtual tri-on button next to the product listing for shirts, pants, skirts and fabrics. You will also be able to share your look with friends or to tap to shop for similar styles.
The range of Google’s new AI shopping technology will challenge the work of other startups to different degrees.
In particular, companies such as thrive-supported doji and stellation capital-supported Vybe are working on technology to make virtual tri-on easy and fun for users. Meanwhile, startups such as Daydream, CHERRY and DAFT have used AI to solve the product.
In addition, chat and perplexity, such as the general-objective AI-operated chatbot, have also added shopping features in recent months.
