
Google I/O, as predicted, an AI show. But now that the main speaker is over, we can see that the company’s vision is to use AI to ultimately to do a lot of gogling for you.
A lot of that vision rests on AI mode in Google Search, which Google is starting rolling for everyone in America. The AI mode offers a more chatbot -like interface inside the search, and behind the curtain, Google is doing a lot of work to draw in information rather than scrolling through the list of blue links.
On stage, Google presented an example for someone to work for things in a weekend in Nashville, who prefer to find food, music and “beaten path.” AI Mode hoped into action, by creating a Google-curate list of “good restaurants for food, recommended places with live music, recommended” highlighting “locations with good things characterized to be characterized by” highlighting “locations,” highlighting “places off-the-bynted paths, and in Naashville. It even created a custom map that recommends places to go. (If you are doing some shopping, AI mode can also show you a personal batch of listing.)
