Rainmware attacks are A necessary digital threat to years without an easy solution looked for years-especially because they have developed to include data grab-and-leaked attacks, which may not include data-encrypting malware. Traditional ransomware that locks files and systems is still largely, however, and Google has started a new rescue for the desktop app on Tuesday for its Google Drive that aims to detect ransomware activity and stop cloud syncing before the infection spreads.
While the antivirus scanners monitors for indications of malware in a system, the new ranges in the drive for desktops are to act as an additional line of safety defense. The detection ability is created on an AI model, which Google trained using files of millions of real victims, encrypted with various strains of ransomware. And this feature is designed to detect and include suspected ransomware in the desktop drive very quickly. Enterprise for Google Wester Customers, this feature is a property that protects any format files that are stored in the drive for desktop and allows users to easily restore any data that is encrypted or contaminated by malware. But like other ransomware detection and data backup features, equipment is not a treatment.
Jason James, a product manager of Google Workspace, says, “Innovative part is stopping the sink quickly to detect that real -time and reduce damage. Our customers were telling us that they really wanted.” “You have found hundreds of, millions, billions of users – and so each file to quickly and accurately check and wherever the users are worldwide, all challenges were.”
The malware is designed to work closely with the monitoring tool that Google already makes in drive, chrome and gmail, the security was created using the expertise of Google’s core antivirus software development team, James notes.
“For me, the best part is that we can take this AI-based method of detecting ransomware behavior and then we can combine it with the safety of user’s data, so we reduce the loss,” James says. “We see it as a missing security trap.”
This feature has some direct limitations, however. This is only relevant, of course, if a business or institute uses a drive for desktop in the first place – then there is no insignificant warning when many of the encomfortable software still dominate by Microsoft. Additionally, drive for desktop is an app for Windows PC and Mac. If the ransomware is tearing through digital files that are not stored in the drive, Google has no ability to detect infection.
Other cloud storage platform including Microsoft One campaign And DropboxProvide facilities with equality for new drives for desktop ransomware protection. And while detection and response are important components because defenders work to prevent cyber criminals and strengthen the victims to withdraw ransom payment, the benefits and limitations of each individual equipment acts as a reminder that still has no panacea for the threat of ransomware.
