Google is bringing its ownership AI directly into Kodar Workflow.
On Wednesday, the company announced Mithun CLI, a free new agent AI Tool that is directly integrated with a command line interface (CLI). Google deployed the agent as an immediate link between coders and Gemini 2.5 Pro, the latest recurrence of Google’s leading AI model, saying that it “provides a mild access to Gemini, which gives you the most direct way from your prompt for your model” blog post,

Developers can use Gemini CLI for writing and debugging through natural language signals, producing materials, intensive research, functioning, and more. In the first March, introduced with an experimental version, Gemini 2.5 Pro is a logic model, which means that it is designed to execute more complex queries step-by-step. Google expanded the model’s abilities by recently introducing a deep think mode and double the range of daily signals for users.
Gemini CLI has also been integrated with Gemini Code Assist, Google’s AI coding assistant, which means that users can access it in free, standard and enterprise plans in versus codes.
In a similar spirit, Google is now trying to promote the use of its new Mithun CLI tool by allowing 60 model requests per minute and more than 1,000 per minute. The company says that it has also opened the new tool through Apache 2.0, one of the most permitted licenses in the software development industry.
Gemini CLI marks the latest attempt of Google to include its ownership AI tools directly in the day-to-day workflow of coders. Last month, in its annual developer conference I/O, the company also announced a public beta launch of Jules, which was its asynchronous AI coding assistants.

Developers are often demographic in the ongoing generative AI race; Gemini CLI developer is the latest in a group of AI tools, which aims to automate more basic functions so that coders can focus on high-mang work. In April, anthropic launched Cloud codeAnother agent AI tool that makes the chatbot accessible directly through the terminals. Open-source tools are also rapidly relevant to a job market uncertain by AI’s rapidly developed capabilities.

AI coding assistants have widely adopted in recent years. A 2024 survey Web developers of the Q&A site stack overflow found that 76% of the respondents were actively using or began to start using the AI tool in the coding process, with the most widely quoted advantage. However, the same survey also found widespread mistrust about the accuracy and reliability of AI coding assistants.
