HP offers a large array of business laptops, with 800 series sitting in the medieval. If you want low prices, choose a 600 series; For the lightest designs, heads for 1040 or dragonfly chain. Even there is a huge option within 800 series, so if you like 2 -in -1 design or AMD chips then something will happen for you.
The 840 G9 is based on the 12th generation core chips of Intel, in this case i7–1255U. With only two performance core, it is not a match for i7–1260p in exploiting tasks exploiting multiple threads, but it will easily explode through everyday jobs. Its low power demands also finally helped 840 G9 between nine to 14 hours in our battery tests, and if 256 GB SSD is not quite large, you can open the chassis and add another (but physically small) M2 SSD.
It is not the most portable machine at 1.5 kg, but it is smooth and – for a business laptop – stylish. There is no Ethernet port, but one HDMI port on the left is with two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports. The USB-A port sits on both sides, and while our review unit does not include the Nano-SIM slot, it is available on the variant.
There is no shortage of security facilities. On the left you will find a smart card reader, with a fingerprint reader with a cursor keys and a Windows Hello-Sangat webcam. HP 840 G9 makes most of the conferencing capabilities, and its 1440p webcam is certainly above average. We were not blowing from its auto frame capabilities-it works, but the stutter is-but we love the clear audio raised by the double-Sanni Mix. These backgrounds also cancel noise.
HP integrates its wolf security package within the laptop, but only one year subscription as standard. If you buy directly from HP, you can trip it-and upgrade the single year of the return-to-base warranty for three years of on-site cover-for £ 179. However, be careful, as you can end with a certain visual screen (see our dragonfly review for its plusus and minus) instead of the excellent panel in our test unit.
We were similarly influenced by the quality of the keyboard, which a cushion still combines excellent symptoms of calmness with decisive action. It would be happy to belt a report on this machine. You can also play music in the background, here is one of the better couples of speakers in evidence.
It is a well -built laptop that may have taken our labs winning award if it was not for limited warranty and the question mark comes with which screen.
