Many new gameplays and story details for DS2 have emerged as previews for the game have gone live on Thursday. Game director and studio head Hido Kojima has also revealed new details about story and gameplay ideas that drive Dath Stranding 2 and have explained the reason behind the June launch timeline of the game in a pack year for gaming. According to Kojima, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is coming out to avoid confrontation with other Sony Games for launch this year.
Death Stranding 2 Launch Window explained
On its latest episode Koji 10 Radio Show On TBS podcast, as seen IgnKojima decided to launch Death Stranding 2 in June. At the Japanese show, the industry veteran took the question of a listener about the reason behind the June release window instead of September.
Kojima said (through IGN) that the decisions of the release date were not completely dependent on them and affected by the estimated launch windows of other games. In the case of DS2, Kojima said, the release date was dropped for a long time.
“For example, Sony has various other games,” said the Sports Director. “So, we cannot overlap with these other titles. It is the same with films. This decision (on the launch date of Death Stranding 2) was made a long time ago.”
Kojima’s comments suggest that Sony, who serves as a publisher for Death Stranding 2, does not want the game to be released close to other first-party titles. A launch of September would have placed the death strand sequel on the Ghost of Yoti mark of sucking the sucking sequel, which is specially set to launch on PS5 on 2 October.

Death Stranding 2 still about delivery
In a different Interview With the IGN published on Thursday, Kojima also spoke about the ideas of the gameplay behind the Death Stranding 2. While the first game was largely about giving precious cargo from Point A to Point B as the players navigated the challenging area, the preview suggests that Death Stranding 2 will have more matches.
However, Kojima said, Combat still had a supporting gameplay feature in Death Stranding 2. “It’s not that I am only carrying forward war. The game is still fundamentally about cargo delivery, but the match has become more flexible,” he said in the interview. “Players have the option to make a round around the enemies or use a car or motorcycle so as not to face them.”
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is set to release specially on PS5 on 26 June. The game will continue the story of Sam Porter Bridge as it attempts to re-connect the pockets of human settlements in the post-epocalic world. It is available for pre-order at the PlayStation Store.
