There is nothing more annoying than resting, working or spending time with friends, only to be interrupted by spam calls and unwanted text messages. It never stops with one, bound to come more quickly or later.
Fortunately, Apple may have a resolution as part of the upcoming iOS 26 update, due to the fall.
How will your iPhone save you from spam phone call
we’ve all been there. Your phone rings, it says that “unknown number,” you answer it, and it is a telemarketer.
While this type of call will not disappear unfortunately, apart from Apple call screening, it is making you a little more harder for them. This feature allows you to determine whether the upcoming number call is necessary.
When an unknown number calls, your iPhone will automatically and quietly answer it and ask for the person’s name and reason to call. More especially, your iPhone will say to the collar, “Hi, if you record your name and the reason for calling, I will see if this person is available.”
This capacity creates live vaiseal, where you can see what the second line person is saying from your lock screen.
Once given the information, your phone will ring like normal, and you will have the option to answer or ignore it after reading the transcript. When you are deciding, your iPhone will thank the person making a call, mentioned their names, and will be asked to stay on the line.
Now, not every unknown call is a telemarketer, so it is helpful whether your iPhone provides the necessary information to help you decide whether to answer. For example, a call can be from Uber Eats or a doctor’s office, whose number you have not saved, but it is important to talk to them at this time.
Additionally, if the caller is someone you know, but you cannot talk at this time, then you can tell your iPhone through the text without picking up the call. This works in the same way that someone calls you, and you tap on the “message” from the upcoming call screen to send them a quick message and the call can be rejected.
To get it, tap on just “Type to answer”, and then you can choose pre-written messages, or you can type a original response. Whatever you choose, your iPhone will tell another person what you say and then ask them to leave a message if they want.
Call screening is a useful feature that many people are waiting because Android already has. This makes a barrier between you and spam calls, so you will not be easily interrupted or they will have to choose until you want.
Additionally, the option to give a specific message to the collar without responding to your iPhone makes you feel that you have a personal accessory in your pocket every time you have an unknown number rings. With call screening, you no longer need to worry much about ambush by spam call – your iPhone now handles them for you.
Hide spam in messages
Phone calls are not just communication method that is receiving spam screening in iOS 26; Messages are also getting the same facility. However, it is not as iPhone-HEVY as a call screening to handle spam messages.
We all have received at least one spam text message in our lifetime, but some of us get many every day. It seems how many times you block a number, another spam number comes all around to bother you.
In iOS 26, messages will be able to screen for spam and will also give you the option to screen for new sectors. These include phone numbers that are not saved in your contacts.
The messages sent from unknown numbers will be automatically placed in a new folder called “unknown sender”, which will have a number next to it indicating the number of unknown sectors in the folder. To make it easier to see how many unknown numbers in the folder will appear in the upper right corner of the screen next to the three-line menu button.
It is worth noting that you can already filter messages from unknown numbers. Nevertheless, in iOS 26, the difference is that you will have more control over them and will not be easily interrupted (unless you choose to accept the message).
Once you can delete the text message if you do not know the number or if it is spam, or you can tap “Known as Mark” for the message thread to appear on the main screen with all your other messages.
Suppose it is not immediately clear that the message is to be kept or deleted after reading the initial text, and you need more information before making a decision. In that case, you can respond within that folder and continue the conversation there, and all information from unknown sectors will automatically become silent and will not appear as information.
However, even with unknown sender features, you will still receive important time-sensitive messages on the main message screen and inform them. These may include receiving a message that states that your table is ready or a message with a verification code to reach your account.
I do not know about you, but recently, I am receiving more spam text messages than calls. Knowing that my iPhone will screen the on-devices, also, my notification will help keep the center less disorganized and my messages make it easier to focus more efficiently-on which I need to answer.
What to do until iOS 26 is released
While all these features look great and in today’s world, robocols, spam messages and the world of people that will not stop bugging you are not yet available. Eventually, they will not be officially released to the public until a decline, usually in September, when a new iPhone is announced.
If you are eager to try these new spam features, you can sign up for developer beta or download public beta in July. However, it is strongly discouraged to install them on your primary equipment, as early versions often include bugs and display issues.
Nevertheless, there is a way to prevent unknown callers from harassing you when you do not want to bother them, and this is by toggling on silent unknown collars in settings. This can be found in the phone section of the Settings app.
Enabling this feature will be silenced by calling unknown numbers, automatically sent to Voicemell, and they will be displayed on the recipes list in the phone app. However, calls from people in your contacts, recent outgoing calls and Siri suggestions will still play.
If you receive several spam calls, this feature is excellent to tograph and can no longer tolerate them. However, from personal experience, it is not all sunny and daisy when it is turned on. During this, spam prevents me from harassing me, it also recalled me the necessary calls from people calling me from unknown or hidden numbers.
For example, when I was in college and needed to talk with my academic counselor, they would call from a hidden number. When I had this setting, I did not see his call until I went on the sound mail. In addition, I cannot say them back because the number they were using was a hidden.
The same will be the same with a job interview, where recruitors will call me with unknown numbers, and they will automatically go to Visicell.
So before you turn it on, consider what a call can come in the present. The characteristics for keeping the spam call away may seem appropriate in striking, but in the real situation, it may not be the best for all.
Spam is incredibly annoying and you need to concentrate during your most busy moments or when you need to focus. It comes in all forms and sizes, and if you are receiving calls and messages several times a day, you can feel that you are drowning in them.
In iOS 26, the issue is being addressed with a new tool to help reduce the number of spam calls and messages that disrupt you. But if you cannot wait for this decline for final release, you can always enable silent unknown callers in the meantime.
