Garmin has recently introduced a feature for many of its watches that apple watch users are able to enjoy for some time: a device passcode, so when your watch is not on your wrist you can lock your data. This feature is now available to users of recent enduro, phenix, forrner, lily, tactics, venu and vivoactive watches.

How Garmin device Passcode works
In the previous versions of the gardene software, the devices that have “wallet” features will ask you to set a passcode to use the wallet. Then, when you tapped your watch to use the gamin pay in the store checkout, you have to enter a four digit code.
Recent software updates add your location ability to lock Complete Look, not just wallets. Here is how to turn it on:
-
Go to your settings menu on the clock.
-
choose System
-
Under PasscodeYou can set an passcode if you do not already have one.
-
Once you set an passcode, you will have an option for “on” or “wallet”. If you put your watch, you want to enter the passcode every time, select “Current”.
If you have not set on the gamin, your passcode option will simply be “on” or “off”.
What can you do and not with a gamin passcode
With passcode being capable, you have to punch your code when putting your watch, but otherwise things will work as usual – for you.
For someone who does not know the code, they can pick up the clock and see it, but most of the things beyond the watch face will be closed behind the passcode. For a stranger who does not know the code, is still available here:
-
The watch face looks as usual
-
Light Button Watch works to turn on and off the face or light
-
If there was any activity going on when you were closing the clock, it was going on
-
You can still answer a phone call
-
Lorch and emergency aid shortcuts still work
And what is not here:
-
Glocal (you scroll down from the face of the clock) are locked
-
Settings menu is lock
-
The activity menu is locked, so you cannot start a new activity
-
The shortcut menu (holding the top left button on a precursor consists of only five options: the power of, lock device, turning on or off the touchscreen, flashlight, and emergency aid. (This is what I see at the fenner 265 S and 570; the nuances can vary by the clock.)
-
Everything else that can happen on the menu, such as your wallet, timer, find my phone, etc. – all are missing.
You need to enter your passcode to turn the passcode feature, which confirms the help you still remember what it is and will not shut down yourself.

How to enable beta software to get new features in future
Passcode feature was officially available in a public beta, before coming out. If you like to get new gamin features, I would recommend signing up for beta. I have not found things to be a buggy, although it is always a risk Any Beta Program.
There are instructions for gamin for enrollment in beta program HereOriginally, you will use your gamin connect app to select your device, then incorporate the beta software program, and agree with the conditions.
Within an hour, you should be able to install the latest software. To check the update at any time, go to the settings menu on your device, then System, Software updateAnd check for updates.
