AI agent era is here: Chatgpt is no longer just to answer its questions with a confident-confidence, often the stained wrong response synthesized by the mass of data scraped from other sources. Now it will hook in your apps to do real tasks for you: booking tickets, looking at prices, checking your calendar, making slideshows, and more.
This new service is called a Chatgpt agent, and it essentially gives AI BOT its virtual computer within your conversation. Openai tells us to expect a bot “between the logic and action between the liquid shifting and action from beginning to the end, based on your instructions” – which seems ambitious and perhaps a bit scary.
If you are on any payment plan that offers chatgate (starts at $ 20 per month), you can now try the agent, so I thought I thought I will put it on some made projects (I am not ready to trust any real yet). You are capable of launching a chatgpt agent in the web app by clicking , (Plus) Prompt box and button on the left side of picking Agent mode,
How does agent mode works
Nothing is dramatic when you go into agent mode: All you are asked to describe the task you want to take the chat out. There are no guidelines about your signal. You get some suggestions on the screen, ranging from obtaining the news to the news, to keep it groceries.
Once you decide what you want to do, it may ask you follow -up questions for clarity, and the interface is not very different from regular conversation with AI Bot. What Is The separate is an embedded window that gives you a common idea of what the chatgate is doing on its own virtual computer.

This is not a direct live feed, but the chatgate will tell you what it is doing and throw some graphics to represent each action. At any point you can scroll backwards through the feed, or control the computer of the chatgpt – at the point you will see what the chatgpt is doing, as if you were connecting to another PC from a distance.
You can also switch to what an activity mode is called, where you just get a scrolling text feed, which is carrying a chat steps without visual. There is also an option to stop the agent at any point, if you feel that it is tracking or doing something you don’t want to do it. It only takes a few clicks.

When the chatter agent has started doing everything you asked to do it, you will be given a summary and report. You will also find a list of sources at the bottom of the final response, as is ideal for chatgpt conversations, and if necessary, there is an option to ask follow -up questions.
Overall, the agent works well, although it may take its time: like a deep research tool, you probably want to set it and then do something else for a while. This means that you cannot see every step and check, which is every step of chat, so you have to decide how much you trust it.
How my chatgate agent was used
The first task I said by chat was the plan of the birthday party for me: I told what age I am doing, what kind of party I wanted (a quiet, low-matter case), the kind of place I wanted (a small room next to one-time), and possible dates I was considering. I also asked AI to come up with some invitations.
What do you think so far?
And overall, Bot did a great job. It identified local places I would have chosen myself, although it was receiving booking details in some issues (opening PDF from the web did not work). The invitation artwork and text was fine, if a little normal, and the final report gave me a clean comparison chart to help the party take place and gave the contact details to book it.

For my next experiment, I tried to get a chatgpt agent to produce a well -formulated spreadsheet with all the iPhone launch dates on it – something that would really help me in my work and save me some time. A certain plus point here was that Chatgate performed well in identifying reliable sources: Sites such as Wikipedia, Apple Press Release and Macrums.
The final spreadsheet looked perfectly accurate, as far as I could tell, and was distributed in an Excel spreadsheet – I did not find good formatting that I had sought, and the source column did not really understand, but all major data were. However, it took a long time to compile, and I think I could probably do it myself at the same time (although I was free to do something else while chatgate was working).

A text-based feed scene is also available.

I am impressed by how much clever and capable Chatgpt agent is. This was not correct, but most of the time it took the right steps and successfully switched between actions. What it is doing, there is a good amount of transparency about it, and you can always take control if needed.
Personally, however, these are the kind of tasks I still do myself. I am very worried about the chatgate agent, making a mistake, remembering in an detail, or not understanding some nuances to trust him. Your own threshold may be different for those types of concerns, and I suspect that a lot of users will ignore minor issues because the agent can save them.
