I always remove these 7 pre-installed apps from my smart TV

When setting a new smart TV, ignoring the chaos of pre-installed apps that you did not ask is difficult. These apps disorient your screen, storage up, and even slow down things, which is why I always remove some prominent people to improve my experience.

    Manufacturer Smart Home Apps

The first app that I remove is the propriety smart home dashboard of the TV brand, such as TCL Home App or its equivalent. These apps promise centralized control over your TV and other equipment, but they are usually clunk, limited and unnecessary.

If you already use Google Home, Alexa, or Apple Homekit, your TV probability is fine. The manufacturer’s version is rarely useful that is already useful beyond the handle. Worse than, they often require a separate account, sketch permissions are demanded, and quietly data is collected in the background.

    Producer channel apps

Next, I dig the pre-installed channel apps: TCL Channel, Samsung TV Plus, LG Channel and so on. These apps look like free TV platforms, but most of their content is filler: Rarun, web reject, and low -budget movies that you have never heard of.

Some launch automatically, while others are located on the home screen, and most are present to push purely advertising materials. These apps are more about mashing your attention than offering the actual value, especially if you already take Netflix, Hulu or similar membership.

If you like the channel surfing, perhaps you will keep them. But for me, removing them leads to speed of boot time, cleanses the home screen, and brings more peace to my viewing experience.

    5

    Proprietary app store

Most smart TVs already run Google TV, Fire TV or Roku, but manufacturers still include their app stores. They offer very small, more curated apps, which are often filled with sponsored materials and shovels. Any auto-installed apps that you did not ask for, pushed advertisements and autoplay clips on your home screen.

I completely remove the app and stick to the primary app store manufactured in the platform. If the store cannot be uninstall, I at least close the auto-update and remove its shortcut from the home screen.

Yes, you can technically run Facebook or Tikok on some smart TVs. But navigating social media on television is a terrible experience. These apps are not adapted to TV and often feel after it.

You cannot post efficiently, typing is a task, and looking at photos or videos seems to clink. In addition, these apps are often background-thunder-they push the track, track engagement, and pull into fresh materials even when you are not actively using them.

6 Funny but useful things you can do with a smart TV (who are not watching TV)

Watching television on your smart TV is only scratching the surface.

I always remove these apps because they are not practical. Let’s not forget the security angle. A smart TV is not the safest place to enter your social login credentials. Therefore, unless you plan to convert your living room into a huge Instagram viewer (and hey, no decision if you are), it is better to leave these apps and use your phone or tablet instead.

If you have ever seen an app such as Amazon, Walmart, or even random regional shopping platforms on your smart TV, you are not alone-and yes, I also remove them. Shopping from a TV seems futuristic, but execution is usually a slowness. The interfaces are slow, clunk, and more designed to promote deals than offering an functional purchasing experience.

Beyond the purpose, there is also an issue of relevance. Do I need a full online store from my Netflix queue a remote-click? For most people, there is no answer. These apps take place, run background processes, and sometimes push unwanted information or banner in your viewing experience.

Removing them not only cleans my app list, but also prevents annoying pop-ups and frees my system from apps trying to do much with very little hardware.

    2

    General game

Whether it is a puzzle game, an racing clone, or an ad-pack solitaire app, generic pre-installed games are always one of the first things I remove. Most of them are filled with advertisements, laggy controls and, in some cases, in-app shopping for the purpose of children. They are also known to be active in the background or auto-update themselves, which eats bandwidth and storage.

If I want to play games on my TV, I use a dedicated console or stream game from Cloud.

It is common to find pre-installed apps for CNN, Bloomberg, ESPN or regional news channels. These apps often require a cable login to unlock the material and run the background update for headlines or scores, which you may not care. I always remove those people I know that I will never use.

Removing these apps not only declares my TV, but also ensures that I am not distracted by notifications or pushed to reach the material, in which I am not interested. If I want sports score or breaking news, I will be able to get them when ready, not when my TV tells me.
