As a material manufacturer, I use chat on a daily basis, which generates drafts from thoughts and research to email and video scripts. In the 2.5 years of the chipt being introduced to the public, a total of 16 separate models have been released. People are excited, but also overwhelmed.
The name of the model is not comfortable at all, either. The strategy of the version for the naming and Chatgpt model of Openai has developed to reflect the improving speed, cost, logic capabilities and multimodal abilities over time. In Chatgpt, you can choose the model you want from a drop-down window, but many are not sure how or why they should use different models for various tasks.

GPT-4o: A everyday talent
I think of GPT-4o as “everyday talent” because it can handle most of my daily tasks and questions. The GPT-4o has multimodal model capabilities in processing and generating lessons, images and audio. When you cannot decide which GPT model to use, 4o should be your Go-to AI partner.
A discovery that I recently made was uploading pictures of my mother’s art business, Jiang Lee Art from a goods drop off. GPT-4O removed the details and replaced the photo A clean and accurate spreadsheet In seconds. This helped me to save much time compared to manual data entry.

Another way is that my house uses GPT-4o, the voice translation between my mandarin speaking mother and my English-speaking partner Adam. It can work in real time using advanced voice feature, or I can upload a document or paste a transcript and GPT-4o and immediately helps me to brid down the language difference with accuracy and tone sensitivity.
Advanced voice requires a payment plan, but standard voice mode is also available on free schemes.
O4-mini: good for quick victory
If you are using the free level of chatgpt, you can kill your daily use cap with GPT-4o quite quickly. This is where O4-Mini comes in. On a budget, manufacturers can convert to O4-Mini for quality results rapidly.
I use O4-Mini for the bursting of creativity such as Instagram posts, YouTube title variations, and even thought for quick air firing dishes based on what I left in the fridge. For those tasks that are less important and essential, O 4-Mune is Mera Go-Two.

O4-mini-hight: good for extended reference and visual logic
For my business Fissworld mediaI only use O4-Mini-High when I need to process and understand long documents with multimedia input, complex charts and diagrams. I use O4-Mini-High to process full workshop documents and tapes, which analyzes the materials to highlight video or articles to remove key moments, quotes and subjects. This model is not available through free tier, so you have to upgrade to the plus plan to use it.
In a way we used O4-Mini-High, recently complex art grant details were to navigate Jiang Lee Art This spread many web pages and PDF. Grant applications and databases are naturally dense; This is the place where the o4-mini-hight shines, as it has better relevant logic and prolonged memory storage. If you are not managing tasks in this complexity, I recommend you to live with GPT-4o or O4-Mini instead. But if you want to upload existing assets or materials, refer to them in future signs, o4-mini-high can be very helpful.
GPT-4.5: Good for strategy and deep insight
As part of the paid plus plan, I also have access to GPT-4.5. For the idea of daily tasks and ideas, you do not need access to this model. However, it can be very powerful for preparing complex materials or navigating high-dot conditions when it is important for voice and tone output.
Earlier, I talked about using O4-Mini-Highs to purses important information for grants. When the time came to apply for the grant, I chose to use GPT-4.5 instead of helping develop the first draft of a grant proposal, including an artist statement, project details, audience engagement, community effects and stories. We needed a strong story, cultural sensitivity and accuracy. GPT-4.5 did a lot of this initial legwork, freeing us to apply the final touch before spending and presenting our energy on the details of getting stuck. By saving time, we were able to apply for more grant last year and brought my mother’s artwork into the world.
It is important to note that no model of Chatgpt needs to do hard work artists, creators and businesses to flourish. Your artistic instinct and business skills still matters a lot. Think of chats as a way to get a running start so that you can focus on what matters the most.

Whether you are sketching the video script, translating the conversation with your mother, or preparing a high-day grant proposal, a chat model has been made for the job.
Use with various engines and be creative. It can take a little test and error before feeling comfortable with these various models of chat. Once you learn to let them handle the busy task, you can focus on your creative vision. No matter which tier you choose, these devices are here to increase your creativity and internal talent, not replace it.
