I am getting some work on my kitchen, which means that our gas range has been out of action for the last few weeks. Because we still need to cook things – and my grill, pizza oven, and smoker is not the most fun to use when it is raining – I decided to see if an induction stove was for work.

I have been using control freak for the last few weeks, making stake, eggs, pasta, and more, to see if it is really worth investing, or if a cheaper model would be sufficient. There are three things that I have learned here.
It guesses from cooking
Unlike most other portable induction stoves, the control freak has a small performance on the front, which not only shows you temperature, but also dozens of settings so that you can set the optimal temperature for what you are cooking.
There are separate menu for materials and techniques, so you can find something for “poultry” or “salmon,” or “sear” or “poach,” and the control cynical will turn itself into optimal temperature.
You can also adjust the temperature manually, do you have your own views. You can do this using a touchscreen or large control knob on the front.
To test its accuracy, I used settings for both fried and sunshine to make some eggs for breakfast, and the control eccentric house was able to make them right, without overting.
I used Sear setting to get a good four on a pair of New York Strip Stek. The Control Freak Home heated itself to 400 degrees F, and I found a wonderful crust on my stake in minutes.
Temperature check was easy
While cooking the above stake, I wanted to make sure they were cooked at a correct 125 degree Fahrenheit. The Control Freak Home comes with a viological temperature probe, so I was able to accurately measure the internal temperature of my New York strips.
Even better: Temperature check also comes with a small slacked silicone ball, so you can safely attach the probe on the edge of a pot or pan. It is a small but welcome touch.
It is rapidly heated
One of the reasons I have always preferred to the gas range for electric is that they heat up very fast and are more responsible for temperature adjustment.
It may be prejudiced, but I was seriously affected how fast the control freak was able to achieve my pan until the cooking temperature – it also felt that it was faster than my gas range, nothing to sneeze myself (a GE Cafe series).
I had trouble with some utensils
As you know or not, there are only a few types of utensils and pamphlets that can be used with an induction stove. There should be an iron element for your cookware – which means steel or iron – otherwise, it will not work.
My utensils and pogue are aluminum, but there are steel inserts at the bottom, so they worked – for most parts.
In the center of control, the top of Freak is a small contact sensor that must be depressed to turn on the cuckatop. It suppresses quite easily, but I found that ever, my smallest PAN had not given enough force, so I had to take it around to register it.
Another peculiarity: While the control freak has many different settings while boiling sugar and other fluids, not one for water. Perhaps Brevil admitted that people know that 212 degrees are the right settings. However, I found that, to get a rolling abscess, I had to set the temperature to about 230 or 240 degrees.
final thoughts
Brevil control freak home is not cheap. You can definitely get a portable induction stove for very little, very low. However, it is difficult to argue with the power of the model of the Brevilla, and the crowd of settings for a wide variety of foods and cooking techniques makes it a great, if expensive, then the options for those who are slightly uncertain about their skills – or who do not want to bother simply in search of ideal temperature.
In addition, I was also impressed by the fact that the Brevil was able to bring my pan at temperatures – and to keep them there – who helped me a lot with overcating food.
This is something that is a bit difficult to control with my gas range, which is why I will definitely consider an induction stove as my next major equipment.
