Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra
Key takeaways of zdnet
- Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra is on sale for $ 650 in four color options.
- Its performance is alive and large, the battery lives through a few days, and LTE is provided without any additional cost.
- It comes in a single 47 mm size, the gesture support is limited, and external sensor connections are not supported.
Last year Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra was my favorite Google Wearos Smartwatch, so when I saw 2025 Watch Ultra I had to buy it with my new blue and orange plans that corresponds to my USCG military service colors.
It turns out that the new color scheme (and twice internal storage amount) is only hardware differences between 2024 and 2025, see Ultra model, so if you do not have color irritation, look for 2024 models that may be available at a concessional price.

It is being said, there are some new software features with Samsung’s new A UI 8 Update, running coach, Google Gemini (available with a button press and hold), antioxidant measurements from heart rate sensors and vascular load support.
Just note that none of these software features are limited to 2025 Galaxy Watch Ultra, so there are not many compelling reasons to buy the latest models.
Nevertheless, if you are looking for more storage, expanding from 32GB to 64GB from 32GB to 64GB may be important for some people to spring enough for spring.
One of the reasons I like Watch Ultra is an integrated LTE service, so I can run safely without my phone and I also use to store the Spotified Music downloaded to download the watch that enjoys with bone conduction headsets. With 2025 Watch Ultra I can now load it with a large collection of media content to motivate me to move.
In addition to so many new apps for Watch Ultra, additional storage space can be more valuable than you think first. For example, media playback apps such as Spotify are essential for many, while fitness tracking apps such as Straw, Map My Run, or Hole 19 are the most downloaded.
They take all places, and the benefit of that additional storage is ultimately more alternative. It is particularly useful with my new Z fold 7 that acts as a mini tablet while Watch Ultra serves as my communication triad device.
I enjoy running and after a few weeks, I found the Samsung running coach to meet my humble needs. I am not going to win any race, but I like audible guidance and personal coaching that provides this facility, especially when it takes me two weeks to complete a week of a training plan. The running coach does not pressurize me to run more often, but to fit my efforts to fit with my schedule and improve my performance and train with some variable routine.

Although it is good that both years of Galaxy Watch Ultra support the antioxidant index, I have not yet seen any results other than “low”, which leaves me to question the utility of this metric. Even when I spend a day’s salad and fruit eating, my index price does not change, and I am not getting any value from this test.
Vascular load is interesting for me because I am now 56 years old and heart health is more important than the past. Samsung works better than others, which you mean each metric and can improve for better health.

While comparing this watch to others, I tried the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic for a few weeks and when I love Fluid Rotating Bezel, small displays and limited battery life did not satisfy me enough to leave the Galaxy Watch Ultra. Samsung created this big watch for people like me and the price of $ 650 is still $ 150 less than the Apple Watch Ultra 2.
ZDNET purchase advice
Thanks to Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, I am back to use an Android as my primary smartphone and with that step, 2025 Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra Is the right partner.
While running, long battery life, accurate GPS tracking and heart rate measurement, and the big watch that fit my wrist well, means that I have a combination to cover all my adventures. I know that the color of something can not be a big thing for many people, but the fact that I can show my college and military service colors, talk about USCG and wearable technology.
