I have to read so many PDFs for work. It can take hours of your day, can search through documents for information nuggets or the end has a major figure.
However, now I have been using Chatgpt for a while to help me with it. Chatbot can become your best friend. When it comes to PDFS, working through information wealth to give you the necessary answers.
These six signs are all that you will ever use with chatgpt for your next PDF scroll.
Call it briefly
The use of the prompt “Sumure this PDF” is a life saving for long documents. Instead of doing its work through 30-year pages of the text, this indication will provide summary of all major details.
This will give a quick observation, as well as the major bits of the information out. For example, on research papers, this indication can layout the findings, functioning and major bits of information in an easy list.
It also works for non-PDF documents. Try uploading a YouTube video or news story and condensed in a large amount of easy-to-pran system using a single prompt.
Take out the major points
Sometimes you will be working through so many PDFs at once, quickly to explore some major points to skimping through each one. Leave this step by asking chat to “take out the major points in this PDF”.
Similar to the prompt above, it will work through the document, offering some bullet points on the most important parts of the document. This will often include facts and figures, conclusions or a overall objective from PDF.
It can also be extended to ask the same question, but on specific chapters of PDF for a long time.
Search quotes supporting this point
This is a particularly useful signal for PDF that has lots of quotes. Whether you are working for a research paper or if you are trying to find a quote to support a marketing plan, it can scan through the entire PDF in search of quotes.
More importantly, if there is a ridiculous amount of lesson to work, you can use this sign more specifically. For example, “Find the quotes that are positive about products from people in senior positions”.
You can also ask where these quotes come from, so you can go back and confirm all the words and the atribution is correct.
Remove all figures, tables and charts and explain to each
A sign that may be slightly hit and missed. “Remove all figures, tables and charts, explaining each” as it says, “as it will. However, it is dependent on all these tables and figures that are readable for chat.
If there is a table that is photocopy or is particularly in the confusing infographic, it can be easily remembered. However, using this sign in my time, I have rarely seen that it makes mistake.
You can also ask Chatgpt to get information and put it in your own tables or compile all the information collected in a document.
Check the Internet to support articles
Why are you limited to reading PDF only? Ask Chatgpt that to support the articles, check the Internet and provide a document of Chatgpt auxiliary materials.
Along with condensing all this information in chat, it will also provide a link to important sources.
It is important to check any information coming from this. Because you are checking the Internet directly from Chatgpt and asking it to a PDF, it can cause some hallucinations in the crossover.
Explain to me PDF
A lot of indications given above will remove information from a PDF, but they will do so in bullet points and briefly present the phrases.
On the other hand, it will make a written report that explains everything that is there. Just ask the chat “Explain PDF.”
You can add additional information such as explaining it in simple terms or explaining it for someone who focuses on marketing to take major details.
I have achieved a lot of success with the prompt “Read through PDF and become an expert in it. Then, explain to me as an expert on information.” It removes the condensed tone and focuses on the importance of information.
