Like many, I naturally miss Google as the search engine of my choice. This is not through the lack of trying the competition. I have used duckDuckgo, brave, and selection of competitors, but the greed of various unique sales points has never been successful in removing me easily of Google.

However, there is a new and potentially more interesting contestant that can change all of that. Perplexity AI is part of the recent wave of chatbots that have emerged in recent years except that it is slightly different.

Where Chatgate, Gemini, and Claude have deployed everyone as a chatbot, which is to help you answer the list of never finishing questions and tasks, for search engines, coming for search engines, offering AI-operated approach to search.

    You may like

It uses AI models and sources from the Internet to provide answers to your questions. Think of it as a melting utensil between Google and Chatgpt, which offers a wide answer to every thought that crosses your mind.

So, how did I get messed up, and can it change Google in my life? I removed Google and for a month to see if it is really the future.

    Search with perplexity: good

Perplexity is operated in a similar manner as AI observation of Google. Ask this a question and it will provide a detailed response, offer a full answer, as well as a list of sources to show where its information came from. You can also see the path planted to fulfill your request.

When you need a lot of information, the perplexity flourishes. I found it particularly useful in some examples – first, buying advice.

Get immediate access to braking news, hottest reviews, great deals and useful tips.

“Is an OURA membership worth it?” There is a question that is in my mind because in an attempt to become a healthy member of the society, since digging an old hail ring from my desk.

Perplexity offered me a page-long answer, in which the profit, cost and ideas were covered, a summary, and to ask questions related to me. After clicking through some related questions, I came to know everything that I needed to know.

Equally, this style of search engine is great for advice to do things. By searching through authority hobby sites, reddit forums and expert guides, Perplexity helped me to confuse garden functions, fixes the things around my house and work spices for cooking.

Outside the search tasks, Perplexity also provides a discover tool. It discovers the Internet for large news and interesting themes that are current. I especially like this will compile a report for several sources to scan what has happened with an array of information sources.

    Search with perplexity: great

With the introduction of Google AI observation, perplexity is not as unique than Google as it was once. I argue that Perplexity works better and is more comfortable, but not necessarily very different.

However, Perplexity mixes the world of AI and discovers in other ways. One of its best characteristics is intensive research. It is a feature that pops up more and more in AI, and takes more complex research tasks, while its thinking also puts more time and effort in its thinking.

    Deep research

This is a great replacement for rabbit holes that you sometimes have to go down with Google. I often found myself capable of solving all the questions that I had at once, where I was poring through Wikipedia pages and articles.

Perplexity also provides other features such as spaces, where you can convert the AI model into a super-Personalized source. For example, you can load it with papers and articles about the moon and space on this subject is an incredibly specific respondent.

It is especially unreliable useful for top subjects that are very concentrated for chat. For example, select an interview on a famous person, and can only answer questions using information from these interviews.

Although it is a fun feature (and is very similar that you get from Google’s notebook), this is not what I really used too much. It matches the best from students or people trying to study on very niche subjects.

A specialty of especially standing is the ability to replace the AI model. Openai, Claude and Grok all have available models available through Perplexity, allowing you to change things that work best with your query.

    Search with perplexity: bad

Okay, then shortcomings. Even though it is seriously supported by online sources, it can still make a mistake that we see most often with AI. Happiness, or in other words, when an AI makes a mistake still occurs. When I am using Perplexity as my main search engine, I have not seen any, but this is a risk that needs to be taken into consideration.

More importantly, compared to Google, Perplexity on your commandments cannot be fulfilled. For example, while it can tell you the direction to go somewhere, it will have to be outsourced by showing a map to Google.

Ask for a place, and Perplexity will give you address, but it is the limit. The same happens with booking or shopping.

    Permanence

Compared to Google, this is a major issue with severity: it can only get you so far. This is especially notable when you are trying to do anything that requires a second step behind the search engine.

Often times, I found that I use Google myself because I will hit a road to how far I can take me.

This is a problem and other AI chatbots are trying to take measures, we can see in-app booking and maps, adding in-app purchases under the line.

However, for now, Google has to return very often to complete such tasks.

It has divided me between the two. Now, I often use great use for questions that do not require another step. This includes reviews of products, suggestions to do things and questions about the world.

However, if I want to buy something, then get somewhere or book anything, the purpose is not yet.
