I found an e ink tablet, which is eligible to change my notable, and it is on sale

    Key takeaways of zdnet

    • The Boox Note bundles for $ 649 with Max Pen and case.
    • It is thin and mild, a high-opposite performance, and has a long list of features that make it a very versatile tool.
    • Theres is not a backlight, it is monochromatic, and is a bit of learning state to use it completely.

    More Buying Choices

Boox Note Max Currently $ 60 is closed on Amazon, which costs $ 630.

I thought and thought last year with remarkable paper Pro and thought He There was a big bullet. latest Boox Note Max The 13.3 inch display leads to things to another level, a standard A4 paper size. It is almost slim, also – only at 0.18 inches, resulting in physically impressive, premium device.

Also: This big screen is waiting for Samsung Tablet iPad Pro optional Android users

Capacitive touch display is a smooth glass -covered Carta 1300 screen, opposite the surface with a slightly higher texture on the remarkable paper Pro. I do not bring remarkable, I promise, but are to be compared between the two because these two tools are the only premium e-readers at the same level in terms of performance and features.

The Box Note Max has a resolution of 3200 x 2400 (Quxga) and has 300 pixels per inch. When combined with a thin form factor, it provides a very high-contrast, sharp image with ink that appears very close to the surface-like surface.

The device itself is notablely thin, weighing 615 grams (1.3 pounds), but it is not critical. It is a premium, rather neutral, with round corners and a clean white backing. The entire tablet feels like a single unit, giving it between no bends or between components. Best part: When the flat is lying on a table, it resembles a piece of paper.

Under the hood, it has 6GB RAM and a 2.8GHz Snapdragon A55 processor, which has support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0. Hardware resulted in rapid enough speed when navigating through the windows, but it is not instantaneous, as there is a normal rent with e-readers. On-screen keyboard, in particular, some intentional finger is required to type, but it is one of the things you have habit.

Also: I am struggling to replace my kindle paperwite with other e -ink pills due to this facility.

The display is monochromatic, meaning that there is no color, and significantly, there is no backlight, which means that you are not actually able to use it in low light. Ultrathin and light form factor are the trade-off for these two characteristics, resulting in the ultrathin, uniform design of the device. Its plus side is that it looks great in bright light, so you can easily take it to the beach.

    Boox Note Max

The experience of writing on Note Max is very satisfactory. The pen is not as heavy as it comes with a remarkable paper Pro, but it has a hat and an exact tip, when you write with it. The result is, on the smooth surface of the tablet, extremely pleasant and completely interval-free.

There are a handful of brushes and pens to use, and the sliding menu of the toolbar make the brush adjustment easier. Penn, in particular, is the most true-to-life digital replication of a fountain pen that I have ever seen. It feels a responsive and touch that directly matches how difficult you make the tip. When you actually push down, there is a little “bleed” of ink.

The monochromatic display lets you choose “color”, but they are essentially only gray degrees are different, which are useful to highlight or make some opposite highlight on your designs. There are also a handful of 3D figures that you can draw, which are making for some interesting on-fly designs such as charts, graphs or mock-ups.

However, I noticed that one thing is that the touch sensor on Note Max is a bit. Relaxing your hand on the display when using a pen can cause frequent false input or activity of gestures. This is one of the settings that you are going to spend to adjust a moment. You can close or limit gestures or simply disable the touch completely and it can only identify the pen.

Also: Why Kindle Paperwite is my favorite e -ink reader right now – Beating Box and Cobo

The tablet also has an inherent dual speakers and a mic, of which the former can surprisingly meet loudly. I never considered music from e-reader to streaming, but it is absolutely possible-with a Bluetooth connection.

In fact, this is one of the first things I saw about Note Max: there are many features and settings, so much that most users will probably not use them all. The amount of granularity in almost every setting on the device is also slightly surprising, making this device shine in the hands of really power users who enjoy the search for new ways to interact with it.

For example, there is a highly adaptable partition screen feature, fully freephorm markup capabilities, translation features, reed-aloud features, and a rich linking system that I appreciate as a fond chawla note-top. You can highlight a specific section, or even a word, and link it to the external webpages, but more interestingly, for the locally stored documents on your own notebooks and devices.

A kids mode, a screen recorder, the ability to use the device as a hotspot, a built -in file drop capacity and compatibility with most file types. Even the floating toolbar is perfectly adapable, allowing the user to pull and leave the features that they use and anchor the most and shape it that whatever part of the screen is the most useful in the screen.

Also: I gave my kindle and iPad within a few hours of using this tablet.

So let’s talk about some shortcomings. One of the biggest concerns I have with the Note Max is the visual ghost. The BOOX note attains excellence on generating text: it is crisp and high-contrast, even with rapid fresh settings.

But it has a difficult time with heavy graphics, especially pages that characterized full-path images from magazines, so that you can clearly read the ink of the previous pages on the display.

No matter which settings you are in, there are light artifacts, but rapid performance switching on settings is very low that reduces the ghost (just keep in mind that it will require more batteries). Talking about the battery on the note Max, this is good, but it is not the one you can just forget.

The BOOX states that the device has about 32 hours of battery life if used only as an e-reader, but only around seven hours if used for more demanded functions such as writing.

I found that it is accurate. If you are mainly using Note Max to draw and take note, but only by stopping, it will definitely last for a few days, but not beyond it. Fortunately, it charges very fast: receiving about 50% in 30 minutes.

Also: This e in ink tablet has a color display that revived my love for drawing – and the stylus bundle comes

Finally, I should pay attention that there is Note maximum magnetic keyboard The cover that can be paired with the device for $ 150 brings the device more to the laptop area, especially because the keyboard has its own trackpad. The keyboard and trackpad (like all other functions on Note Max) come up with a comprehensive list of adaptation and functionalistics, which I did not have a chance to test personally, but I imagine that text is ideal for users working with documents and functional editing.

    ZDNET purchase advice

Boox Note Max There is a powerful, versatile tool that can be many things. If you just want a light large screen e-reader, it does very well. But if you want a highly adaptable device for everything from document review to mock-up and sketch creation to widespread note-teching, it has a detailed list of facilities and settings to meet the needs of power users’ demand.

The only other device on the market (which I have tested, at least) that comes close to this level of premium note, it is a remarkable paper pro, which is thick and heavy, but a color display and a backlight in turn. In terms of features, Note Max tries to do everything, and menu and settings put themselves in front of their face in a way that can be disappointing for casual users.

Among all, it is a great device that reveals itself over time and one that I suggest perfectly, especially if you do not need a backlight or color display. I appreciate that it comes with a pen and case for $ 650, which is definitely not cheap, but it is well priced to all.
