See, I like the best soundbar like the next person. They are a great solution to ensure that your movies and music make a large -scale sound without taking too much space in your living room. There is a sonos arch ultra that sits in my living room for Dolby Atomos films – I am not perfectly for soundbars.
But sometimes the attraction of a pair of stereo speakers is often very high to take. Even the most expensive soundbar’s musical abilities often leave a lot to be desired, and there are times when clever dolby atomos virtual is also a pel mix compared to real, real stereo separation.
Kef LSX II is a pair of speakers for a long time I wanted to test. The brand is my favorite-blade speaker is my ‘money is no object’ dream speaker, my LS50 Metas has long operated my Hifi, and interesting looking ‘UNI -Q driver’ that dominates their speaker fronts, often appears in my sleeping moments.
So what do they like to use?
What are they?
KEF is a pair of LSX II connected smart speakers that the brand can call its ‘luxury low-end’ price point. Their cost is $ 1,499, or about $ 500 more than the sonos arc ultra, before you will add a subworker.
They are going against similar models for technic and other Hifi brands, and they are also among potential soundbar customers. By that end, they have found an HDMI port on the back so that you can connect a TV without the need of a strange dongle. This also means that they can be controlled with a TV controller, which is always helpful.
The speakers have a uni-yu driver of their own kef, who give home to the chief driver in a tweeter and the same unit. Not only do they look really cool, but they also allow the brand’s signature expansion and excellent sound time.
There are two units, and unlike some speakers in this format and shape, both of them need strength. This is because both of them include the amplifiers. Only one speaker has input and output, however, the other has a socket to plug another speaker and plug a pairing button.
Why a pair button? These speakers can be tilted wirelessly to each other, which avoids some cables around the floor. Instead, you can mount them to the stand and root the power cables under the feet – it will really look very tasty.
A beautiful pair of speakers
I am not going to tell you that these are around the best looking-operated speakers-this honor goes to anything made by Bang and Olufasen-but they are a very beautiful option that sits next to your Big-screen TV.
The opposite color of the main unit is in front of UNI-C drivers dominated the front, and then a logo and a small position light up and down. From the front they look like small versions of my LS50 Meta, which is very good. The edge of the gray model I tested is covered with a cloth, which lends some additional textures for action, but other colors have an all-over resin finish.
I would advise them to see them to stick to the speaker stand or even speakers to use some wall mounts – they are a minimal speaker, and I think they are worth sitting on their own instead of the TV stand. They are good and small however, which makes them more flexible than some other options.
Prosperous
KEF has filled LSX II with some seriously calm facilities. My favorite is Wi-Fi connection, which means that I can stream my favorite tunes with best music streaming services without worrying about any kind of cable to work.
This also means that I can slip them into my Roon server, so that I can make a track stream with my home music streaming setup, which is always a large -scale bonus. The app also connects to the Internet, which opens even more features.
From there you can select the HDMI EARC system, which is helpful, or among other inputs. There is a Bluetooth connection, as well as an optical port, and a 3.5 mm oxes for older devices. You can plug into the network to make them for more stable connections.
All features work very well, although I ran into some problems with HMDi EARC. Sometimes I had to turn on the speakers separately when I turned on my TV, and I never did it. This was not the worst problem in the world, but it was upset. It is not enough to reduce my experience with speakers.
Sounds much larger than their size
So Kef LSX II does not look big. This is because they are not – each unit is about the same size of a homepod 2. You can expect that they would be good only for small rooms as a result, but I am not sure it is possible to be completely wrong.
Thanks to some impressive power to drivers by their individual amplifiers, they are able to pump something seriously impressive sounds. I was able to fill a large living room with LSX II located on either side of my TV, with a large -scale bass body that did not need to spread myself to fill the space. Given how small speakers really struggled in my space, I was immediately stopped from the sound of LSX II.
I knew that they were going to be good, my experience with Kef Gear told me this way. I knew that there would be some incredible details mixed with luxurious means separation, but I did not know they would be able to do so when they would have to bring a sound to my living room.
But, the boy, did they make noise. Guitar depth in watin They rode It was enough that I could lose inside. Vocals crystals were clear, coarse, jaggery-like instrumentation, corresponding to impressive detail as the rest of the artists had joined the ground.
The drums were impressive, bass guitar soulful, and electric guitar was on the ground like a terrible sacrifice knife. This was the league above the music performance of my sonos arch ultra.
It is mostly lowered for stereo separation as it has the sound capacity of speakers itself. Music prefers to be physically differently so that you can appreciate each different element of the track, while you can also work to expand the soundstage. LSX II is the correct example of what happens when you give music a place to breathe.
Very good for movies, too
Controversial, I will take a properly different stereo mix on a virtual surround mix on any day of the week. Small drivers loaded in the soundbar can only do a lot in creating a mix sound, as it is actually it, and even the best soundbar is a pale compared to the wizardry that moves when the soundstage is physically wide.
With more space for drivers to do your dirty work, you will immediately see more space. Nevertheless, the dialogue sits at the center of the mixture, while the voice comes from around you.
This is not as impressive as 11 speakers are placed around the room, but add to a KEF subduer and you have to work hard to tell if you prefer the sound of Sonos Arc Ultra or KEF LSX II when it comes to seeing your favorite blockbusters.
The initial view of “Top Gun: Maverick” tells me that I want to know all that. Fly with you in the form of chains and ropes around the aircraft carrier. The soundtrack looks impeccable.
You miss some spatial imaging of multi-channel soundbar, but the sound is completely happy for the ear. It lacks a slight synthetic edge of the soundbar, and gives you a more sonic body.
I am not saying that everyone should go and change your soundbar with a pair of KEF LSX II – but I am saying that you should think about it. difficult.
Hifi’s future
I am a Hifi loyal. I like my systems separated into different components so that I could better control the sound output. There is still something good about a pile of devices flocked by a large pair of speakers waving with drivers and tweeters. But I do not have to accept that I am a little stuck in the past.
The mid-range Hifi system can get out well, replaced by the choice of kef LSX II. Instead of spending $ 1,500 on an amplifier, a streammer, a Bluetooth dongle and some speakers, you can buy it at once and get something that simply looks good and plugs in your TV.
I do not think that really high-ending items need to be worried-but I will keep an eye on such systems. After all, not everyone has enough space for a Hifi setup like me, but they still want epic music sound. Kef LSX II can be the best way to achieve this.
